In short: Disappointing new course
In full: Sadly, the Hampshire Committee for Public Safety seems to have won and managed to spoil what was an enjoyable and scenic race. Not the Gosport club's fault I don't think but what they've been forced into is terribly disappointing. Chaotic start which surely could have been seen coming but as others have said, much of the race is in an abandoned military base. One of my all-time favourite races? Yes - used to be but won't be going again.

In short: Serious hills but the views are superb
In full: Great, well-organised race. Fourth time I've done it [I think] and I vow not to go back but always manage to. Must be something about it. Nice atmosphere and very poignant this year. Superb long-sleeved t shirt. OK,parking's a drag but £2.50 90 mins before start ain't too bad, surely? And finish is virtually in said car park!! I didn't think start was bad at all. Why do some people never read instructions sent to them?! First mile is VERY hilly and can make you come unstuck - beware! However, do travel to it [as a number of reviewers have]. If weather favourable [it was a glorious evening]then it's hard to beat. Don't expect PB and try to ignore the fact that Dan Robinson did it in 1.06............

In short: Excellent. Others could learn by.
In full: I paid about £8 to enter this race - same distance as Reading/Bath who charge 3 times as much. And what for??? Same distance!! I cannot fail the organisation of this race, especially the online update at 7.30 to say the race was on when the snow outside my house was 3" thick. Brilliant! Good luck to you and all other 'smaller' races. I've run Reading, Bath,Bristol et al and will not be seen at any of them again. We're being expoited. Stand up to them!!!!!!
