In short: Good race, great t-shirt, not so great goody bag In full: Enjoyed this - was there early (9.45) so had no trouble with traffic or partking. But then spent an hour and a half in the cold - those cow sheds are not warm! Thought the course was good, but the hill killed me 2nd time round. Loved the tech T-shirt but thought the goody bag was really poor (bag itself OK, just the contents!). Would have been better to have some water right at the finish, rather than only in the bag. But on the whole I think the organisers did a very good job and I'll definitely run this again. Date of review: December 1, 2008
In short: Good race, bit windy but the sun shone! In full: First time in 3 years for me doing this and I really enjoyed it. Good organisation (queue for the ladies very short!) and friendly marshals. I saw the dog too - he was in the car barking (make that cheering!) as I went past at 2 miles, and he then just jumped out, and was off down the road. He must have done that whole loop back to 5 miles. Really speedy! Date of review: November 11, 2008
In short: I really enjoyed this (although my legs tell a different story!) In full: No real hills, in terms of gradient, although quite a few uphill drags along the way. Nice route through Somerleyton Hall, which I am sure is lovely if I hadn't been too knackered at that point to look properly. A couple of the mile markers were a little off I thought, but don't really care too much about that.
Well marshalled, and plenty of drinking stations, and the sponges were very welcome.
And, best of all, the first race I have done where the queue for the ladies at the race HQ was shorter than the mens! Date of review: August 15, 2005
In short: Really enjoyed this, despite the hill that seemed endless (twice!) In full: My only slight complaint was the rather crowded HQ, as there was no main hall to congregate in, and everyone seemed to mill around outside. Not sure how easy that would have been if it had rained. But I thought the course was good - the hill that went on for a km was a challenge, especially the second time round. But what goes up must come down, and I enjoyed stretching it out on the downhill bits. And I got a PB by more than 2 minutes, so must have been OK! Date of review: April 11, 2005
