In short: great race in the heart of the New Forest
In full: forget chasing a pb and come and enjoy a day out in the New Forest. You'll struggle to get a pb because of the heat, gravel tracks and many undulations but still worth it as a friendly, family orientated day and great scenery to boot - why would you ever want to race city streets after doing a run like this.

In short: really friendly, low key race, ideal for new runners
In full: well done to hardley runners for organising such a friendly, low key race - in its 3rd year now and seems to be guaranteed sunshine for the race. Most marshals i have ever seen for this type of race, thanks for all the encouragement. For new runners, cannot think of a better introduction 10k race - lets hope there is a race next year as will be sorely missed if not.

In short: got to be one of the hardest off-rad races the south can offer but also got to be one of the friendliest and best organised
In full: don't even think about this one unless you are capable of running a marathon because your time will not be far off, especially when the conditions were as tough as this years - even in good off-road shoes i spent half the race slipping and sliding and ended up 20 minutes slower than last year.
organisation was brilliant - great feed stations with lots of goodies to help keep you going and the food at the end could not be bettered - soup, hot drinks, loads of cakes, fruit, plus a tee-shirt and medal.
thanks to all you marshals out there - at least i could try and get warm after 3 1/2 hours whereas some of you were out there for 6+ and all so cheerful - well done to you all and see you nest year

In short: probably the most scenic 10k i have ever done
In full: great race, friendly marshals and wonderful scenery - no way you'll ever get a pb but that really doen't matter as it was all about a friendly race with great views once you had conquered the cliff paths.
how to improve the race? - ban ipods (got stuck behind an oblivious ipod runner taking up the whole of the path), more people on the water station, improve the veteran prizes as one veteran medal for a field of 250 is not good and more details on the results (club and v category would be good)

In short: hills and mud - what more could you ask for on one of the best trail runs in the south?
In full: good to see the course reverting to its original direction, far preferred it compared to last year but have never known there to be so much mud at this time of year - more cross country than trail at times.
well signed and great marshals, thank you liss runners
liked the small course alterations which removed some of the road sections and the steps.
see you next year.

In short: Thank you marshals - probably the most friendly and encouraging i've ever come across
In full: what a tough race - normally do around 1.30 for a half - still waiting on the results but somewhere around 2.15 i think.
mite expensive but great goodies at end and on course - tee-shirt,medal and hat plus good food.
just felt a cheat only doing the half with all the full marathon runners out there but no way would i want to run that course twice!

In short: must be in my top 5 races - forget about times and enjoy the views
In full: one of the tougher trail runs around these parts but defintely worth it for the brilliant views once Headon Warren and Tennyson Down have been conquered.
Nice to see more and more runners finally discovering this race as fully deserves the bigger fields that the last couple of years have seen.
onlt thing i would add is that it's worth looking at the Whitelink ferry website as you could get better on-line discounts (2 for 1 on foot passengers) than from the race entry discount quoted.

In short: put this one in your race diary, breathtaking views (like the hills) and friendly marshals
In full: thank you ryde harriers - just cannot understand why a run like that only attracts such a small field as beats running around the streets of any town, anyday. Must go down as one of my favourite runs.
see you next year.

In short: definite pb course despite the slow start
In full: definitely a race to get you a pb (always providing the wind is blowing in the right direction). Start too narrow and didn't get into race pace until the first mile marker but maybe the slow start actually helps - worked for me in the end. A virtually flat course with plenty of friendly marshals and good changing facilities (other than the freezing showers). Parking was a bit of a problem with long queues to buy tickets - meant we only just made it to start in time.
