In short: Well organised, good support, quite a tough course
In full: My 3rd or 4th Leeds Half, and my main criticism in the past has been addressed - the start. Pens for sub-75, 85 and 95 mean that a reasonably swift getaway is achievable. Lots of water stations, sponges (brilliant!) and a course that's fair although challenging. Make it to 7 miles within sight of your target and as long as you can hold it together along Kirkstall Rd you'll get there, as there's a few "easy" fast miles to be had.

In short: Fast second half and well organised
In full: First time for me at this race - not too crowded, with a couple of cheeky little hills on the way out to keep you on your toes. I like that fact that the 5k marker's before the turn, making the second "half" feel very fast, and the finish feels downhill too. If you know what's coming you could push hard from 7k and maybe get a PB.

In short: Definitely no PB course, but a good little 'festival of running'!
In full: The 10k is too lumpy and has too many twists and turns (plus the off road bit) to be described as anything approaching fast, but the course is interesting, the crowds are supportive and the fun run (over 8's only - please note!) and 5k (worth doing as a warm down!) make it a reasonable day out for all the family.

In short: Could be great but at the wrong time of year!
In full: Another Blackpool marathon day - glad I was only doing the half today, as it was hot again - maybe 24 degrees. Extremely well organised, a great route with lots to look at (including the scouse lad who was rather spectacularly p*ssed at 9am and wandered across the road with a can of Fosters and asked "Is this the Olympics?"...

In short: Stunning scenery and fantastic organisation
In full: Second Coniston for me and anoher brilliant day out. Superb organisation, enthusiastic marshalls and a challenging course with enough lumpy bits to keep you honest! Thanks, Coniston - see you next year!

In short: Another triumph! Well done Knavesmire!
In full: From the fantastically quick course to the wonderful, wonderful marshalls, yet another Brass Monkey enters the annals of 'my favourite races'. Not a great time, but carting an injury induced weight problem round didn't help - but it feels so good to have enjoyed a race rather than endured one, which is how it's been for a while!

See you next year!

In short: 5th time!
In full: A regular cross-pennines trip for the lads - and as always a good run out at the start of the year. Better organisation at the start this time, and no pirates with no numbers running as it filled up a couple of weeks ago. Good course, only slightly lumpy - sure that 5th mile's long though!

In short: Fast, well organised and a definite negative split!
In full: I'd heard that there was a slight incline to the turn, but either forgot or wasn't aware that I was on it, but blimey - how much quicker is this coming back? Great race, PB City Arizona (except for me!), Nell McAndrew and good value for money. Thanks Dewsbury RR!

In short: Fast, well organised and nice sweatshirt!
In full: Great race - from the numerous loos, clearly labelled start, through the super course, encouraging marshalls and good quality field, right up to the enthusiastic crowd at the end an all round top event. The PB helps of course...

In short: Silly at the start, but a good start of the year race
In full: Building work at the school meant a daft start, which could be avoided by starting on the road (assuming the police would agree). Good, scenic course with a sting in the tail. Getting popular - many e/d runners turned away - some of whom ran numberless - idiots.
