In short: Well organised on a PB course In full: Good pre-race instructions, plenty of parking, good welcome, good base with tea and coffee available and plenty of toilets. Short jog to the start on Mablethorpe prom, free toilet next to start line, race briefing and out and back course with the odd undulation that makes no difference. very good marshalling with at least two of them greeting runners by first name, supportive members of the public, worthwhile goody bag at the finish and back to the MRC base for the t-shirt. Absolutely no complaints at all, nothing but praise so well done Mablethorpe RC, cracking day out at the seaside! Date of review: September 11, 2011

In short: Good first time effort In full: Apart from lack of toilet facilities already mentioned, there were no XL t-shirts - we're not all slim and speedy! (One hour finisher) Other than that, the goodie bag was fine with a mixture of items apart from the usual sponsors' paperwork. Pre-race information was excellent, good off road parking with one way system on exit, closed roads, fast course, well marshalled in the drizzle! Thanks. Date of review: September 4, 2011

In short: One of my favourites In full: Echo all the plaudits but with one very small grumble, for the second year in a row the XL t-shirts ran out before I ran in - 46 mins. As it 'appens, technical shirts seem to be smaller sizes so the XXL shirt fits great! Other than that, a thoroughly enjoyable and well organised event whatever the weather. Well done and thanks LERC Date of review: June 13, 2011

In short: Mmmmmmmmmmmmm In full: In a fit of enthusiasm I entered all 3 JT 10ks at the reduced cost of £50 as it really is a worthwhile cause so I have no gripes about those that take part who raise thousands of pounds. But - as a club runner, the race could've been better or maybe I just had an off day. Arrived early and parked easily not too far from the start. Plenty of toilets and things looked good at the start. Nursing a dodgy calf strain I joined the masses near the back not realising I was in with the walkers which took a good 5 minutes to clear the start line. No big problem as I wasn't racing anyway but as someone else said the charity and fun runners did block the way just about all the way round as the course seemed narrow most of the way round. Not in a rush tried to settle down but just couldn't get any sort of rhythm going dodging in and out of groups of walkers and runners who seemed to find it difficult to go in a straight line. Not knowing the area the course did seem convoluted with many twists and bends adding to the congestion. There were many sorts of surface ranging from cobbles to potholes, pedestrian precincts, quayside, bridges and normal tarmac estate roads, quite a combination. Looking up and around, it was a pothole that was my undoing when I went a*** over elbow taking the skin off my knee and bruising my ribs! Oh well, at least the scenery was 'interesting' contrasting between the riverside, the Deep, the marina, the city centre and all points in between. Despite the ribs giving me some pain, managed to finish and collect the goody bag from the XL section. As I wasn't feeling too good I didn't bother checking the contents until I got back to the car only to find despite the kind volunteer's assurance that the t-shirt was XL, it was a size small. Oh well, mistakes can happen, as it did again when I received a text message with the wrong name and finish time although it was corrected later in the afternoon. On the plus side, good cause, good marshalls and excellent support - it just wasn't my day! Date of review: May 16, 2011

In short: Hot hot hot! In full: Hot but obviously not the organiser's fault! Entered the old fashioned way by post and received number and pre-race guidance in good time. Stuck to advice by parking on Crown Street car park in good time with no problems. Easy walk to the start and race HQ. The start was crowded but didn't notice any particular problems but then I always start at the back anyway. The course was flat although I have run on flatter ones such as the Salford 10k/Cleethorpes 10k/Birchwood 10k etc. so I wouldn't call it the flattest. Scenery wise it was ok, I've run a lot worse and two laps was helpful in the heat as I hadn't run it before. Marshalling was good and enthusiastic and drinks were ok, not that I usually bother on 10k's. Finish was ok, enjoyed the yoghurt in the shade of a tree. All in all nothing to complain about for this 55 minute runner, highly satisfied in the difficult conditions. Thanks to the organisers. Date of review: June 28, 2010

In short: Flat fast midweek trail run in the woods In full: Agree with the previous two comments but I found the route a bit boring towards the end - sorry, you can't do much about that, just a personal view!
Well organised with excellent facilities and very good marshalling together with a decent T-shirt, thanks Donny. Date of review: June 17, 2010

In short: Flat scenic off road little cracker In full: On a pleasant morning this was a good little 10 miler. Having done a 10K the day before I was a little apprehensive but the course was as flat as promised and starting (and finishing) towards the back of a relatively small club race I did alright. Organisation was faultless with marshalls in all the right places. A good tech t-shirt and free buffet at the end completed an enjoyable event - well done and thanks Tickhill! (Agree with Gary though - on a wet day it would be very different underfoot but that's what's great about off road) Date of review: May 16, 2010

In short: As always a pleasure to run In full: Absolutely nothing to complain about, a pleasure to run every NYD. (The finish used to be where the retail units have been built so had to be moved back which also resulted in the first part of the course winding its way around the estate twice before heading out) Well done Cleethorpes AC. In short: Fast and flat but getting overcrowded... In full: ...and where were the XL t-shirts after the hour mark? Getting a bit crowded for me but first timers and speed merchants will love it, just find somewhere to errr, "relieve" yourself beforehand! Date of review: November 23, 2009

In short: Love it! In full: "...says a lot for an event in a town that no one outside the area is likely to have heard of." Well I travelled for an hour to get there and it was worth every minute. Very well organised event although it always seems to be wet! Pretty course, good facilities, soggy marshalls, great useable t-shirt that fits, well done all concerned.
