In short: Cold, cold, cold ! In full: Course had lovely views but there were quite a number of bottlenecks which meant it was more of a 'fun-run' than anything else.
Unlike others on here, no real problem with the organisation of the race - I think it was made quite clear that facilities on site were sparse.
But, given the cold weather and interaction with water that every competitor had, a marquee with some form of heater should have been put in place for runners at the end. I saw several people in trouble at the end, and some trying to get back to their cars in a bit of a state.
The Air Cadets doing the baggage get top marks from me. I think they did a great job, as did the ones handing out the water and the Army Cadets doling out the goodie bags.
Goodie bag contents were pretty good.
Didn't hang around for too long afterward to gauge 'atmosphere' - too cold !
In short: Very good overall - as usual ! In full: As usual, a well organised event with great atmosphere and a (nicely coloured this year)memento at the end. Definitely a must-do each year for me.
Two suggestions though; 1 - Keep spectators away from the area behind the village hall after the race. With the number of runners it was tricky to get through amidst the buggies and bikes of the well wishers.
2 - The car park marshals had left the scene when it was time to depart. Cars were trying to get into the car park whilst the majority were trying to leave which was causing problems back through the village Date of review: June 1, 2010
In short: Very well organised 10 miler In full: Great organisation, good mix of terrain, fantastic marshalling, superb water stations (+ sponges), ample parking, track finish. Can't ask for any more really ! Date of review: July 26, 2009
In short: Very good overall - as usual ! In full: Only improvement would be to the chip return and t-shirt pick up area. Got a bit congested and could be improved by keeping it clear / putting in one way barriers up to this point Date of review: May 26, 2009
