In short: Great Local Race In full: Very friendly local race. First time and all went very well - like clockwork. Bit hillier than I had anticipate and not a PB course. Nice to be out in the countryside though Date of review: September 19, 2009
In short: good race and improved on last years fiasco In full: much better this year, weather helped. didnt understand the delay relay, still too many runners and start finish was confined. perhaps move to victoria park? good turnout from the residents of bath. saw too many people getting treatment this year. only saw one band which was disappointing Date of review: March 17, 2009
In short: Definitely PB potential In full: Wonderfully scenic route which was mostly traffic free. And it was flat! I usually find that when organisers says its flat they are a little economically with the truth, but this one is. Def PB potential and I recorded my first PB of the year. Very well marshalled with lots of signs.
Good value and nice touch with the t shirt. Only down points were parking and small number of toilets, oh and it would have been nice to have a banana or mars bar at the finish. Next year I will remember to bring something to eat for the end of the race. Date of review: March 1, 2009
In short: Challenging in places, great scenery, good value In full: Good race for a Sunday morning, first time for me on this one. Climb up from Portway was challenging and narrow, difficult to pass. Some good fast downhill stretches. Muddy in places, prob difficult if a lot of rain. Would do again though. Date of review: February 16, 2009
In short: Great Race In full: Weather a bit warm this year, but thats nothing the organisers could handle. Well organised and great marshalling. Plenty of water stations, which were needed. Date of review: June 9, 2008
In short: Challenging Run In full: It lives up to its name. Hills straight from the 1st km. Fantastic organisation and very efficient. Friendly runners and race hq. Marshalls could have been a little more encouraging on the course. Mixture of byways and roads, which were a little uneven. Challenging on the heart and ankles. Great race though, will be back. In short: Great 10k In full: My local one so I am probably biased. Great weather today too. Hills, still as hard as ever. Still lacks loos! Good organisation though, better off the blocks than last year. Will never be a PB. Date of review: February 10, 2008
In short: Well Organised Race In full: Would say its a poss for PB but really depends on weather, which was really rough in the last couple of miles. Enjoyed running through the dockyard and watching the boats go in and out.
Well organised and marshalled on the course. Plenty of water, drinks etc and for a change plenty of toilets. Something most races dont get right.
Atmosphere was really great, plenty of people braving the weather to support - thank you.
Parking was a mare. I took a park and ride option but when I got there the Hotel knew nothing about leaving the car there! Good start. Coach had difficulties getting in and out of Portsmouth. Did watch the fun from those parked on the Common, agree with the comments that the marshalls didnt seem to know what was going on or co-ordinate with Police who controlled roads further up.
Real shame trains werent running as that was my preferred method of travel.
Overall great race, shame about the weather. Hope to be back next year. Date of review: October 29, 2007
