In short: So pleased it wasn't blazing hot!
In full: Not too hot in the end. A bit slippery in places from previous day's downpour. Scenery was great but I was watching where my feet were going most of the time - not used to off-road. Plenty of water. Reasonably flat. Great marshalling. Great experience.

In short: Well organised.
In full: Loads of Marshalls doing a brilliant job and offering encouragement. One marshall got serious grief from a motorist who didn't want to let us cross. Lots of residents at their gates too. Muggy hazy sunshine so it was hot but not blazing hot. Minor things - The short steep hill up to the drinks station was a bit of a killer. Nettles along the Phoenix trail encroached on space a bit. All in all a really good race.

In short: A pleasant scenic course on quiet country roads with a few hills thrown in!
In full: Seemed quite a quick field of runners. Not so many of us slower ones. Medal I received had no reference to the event at all which was a bit of a shame as I'm a relative beginner and it's nice to have something which identifies what is quite a major achievement for me. In a few weeks I'll have forgotten where this one came from! I belive earlier finishers received different medals - were they RNLI/race specific?

In short: Great challenge for a beginner. Hills gave me an excuse to enjoy the glorious scenery!
