In short: see report
In full: the start was appalling, no one knew what the heck was going on , it took me 2 mins to cross line, no chip but thats another story.. congestion going around by the yacht was just ridiculous, my god, they want 10 000 runners to sign up for this, god helo them, they really have to rethink a lot of things
so... course was pretty much what i expected, i knew about the nightmare of the last mile as i had checked the course map and ran it myself already, didnt know about the other detours tho, heading down that bloody pathway then back up, eeeurgh, anyway, managed a wee sprint to the end, shame i couldnt cross the bloody finishing line eh?? it was around 4 people deep, god knows what it was like after me, probably ended up people finishing at 13 miles i expect, so... stood in line for at least 15 mins, no water nothing, i had to ask someone to get me some, shuffled along in pens, then for some obscure reason they were taking our numbers?? a good 20/25 mins after we finisied? the offical results will be a joke
finally got to water station and medal, then had to queue again for a banana!! aaaargh, oh then again for a wait, i quote* good quality goody bag* hahahahahahahahahahahahahhahaha yeah ok, get yourselves up to loch ness and see what a goody bag is!
so, meade it eventually out of car park by 12.30!! only hr n half after i finished, i guess the 30 mins is fair enough, lots of cars, people still running etc, that i have no complaint over, everything else i do!
my last 2 1/2's were Brass Monkeys & Lossiemouth, i was really really looking forward to this, my first home town one, i'm almost ashamed
lessons need to be learned, yes kevin, i'm talking to you and i dont care now if you take the bloody huff.
Well done to everyone who ran, and to marshalls and all the wonderful supporters, nice to meet a few of you, shame more couldnt make it to pub
onwards and upwards is all i can say!!
*please dont tell me the marathon i run by same people?*
