In short: a great end to the year In full: This is a great race but the start needs to be improved if its going to get bigger next year like reminding slower runners to go nearer the back. It was hard for the first half mile or so to get around the slower runners as its quite narrow.... I loved this race though and the new course is definitely better without that hill..... A problem with the elite race starting late leaving the runners cold and covered in the smoke and fumes of the fireworks needs to be addressed but still thanks to all the marshalls and crowds who help to make this a great night out... In short: Brilliant organisation and friendly marshalls. In full: This was a race that reminds you why you run. It was a beautiful morning which helped. The organisation was great and there were plenty of marshalls and police who were all encouraging and did their job brilliantly. The scenery was not as bad as I had thought but this might have been because I was too busy talking to some friendly fellow runners. A great chance to meet new people...I would definitely do this again.... Date of review: February 5, 2007

In short: A brilliant race, well organised and great value for money. After the nightmare of cardiff last week a race to remind you of the joys of running In full: What can I say... brilliant.
Frendly marshalls and loads of them so therefore no problems with route or traffic. Well organised and started on time with plentiful water stations. A lovely atmosphere with the other runners very friendly. A t-shirt, medal, bag, banana and water at the end!!!!!!! great value and the option of a free sports massage which was a great treat at the end.
The scenery was beautiful even if the lap around the statium did seem to go on for ever it was great crossing the line and the friendly congratulations that was given by the organisers was most welcome.
This was the first time I did this course and because You know its downhill the hills that you come across really hurt more than usual. I will definitely come back next year. Thank you to all those involved. So much better than Cardiff last week....
PS no queues for the toilets either!!!!!

In short: so much congestion on route. great stadium finish In full: Some information in race packs re parking would have been more helpful in the magazine.
The start was a bit of a shambles with no time indicators so once again the walkers start at the front. (not all may I add). The congestion on the barrage due to the digger left parked on it was ridiculous. Surely it could have been moved for a morning.... There seemed too many people for the route. The lack of marshalling on the barrage was also a nightmare. Experienced runners kept to the left to make room for the elite ones coming back but so many were just looking for a space and running right along the route and getting in the way. It didn't even seem to occur to them to move when the runners were coming in their direction. Surely a few marshalls telling everone to keep left every 100 yards would have worked. there was not a marshall in sight on the barrage. Anyway great finish and a nice route but way too congested Date of review: October 15, 2006

In short: how decided the route??? came to a standstill within 1/2 mile and the route had a 180 degree bend... In full: It seemed well olrganised and the 2k fun run went off really well..... But the 10k was a mess with walkers starting near the front and causing hold up. We then came to a standstill at about 1/2 mile as the route turned back on itself..... This was followed by congestion throughout the park area and having to avoid being run over by the wheelchair atheletes coming in the opposite direction... I would have been well upset if I was them that they had to shout warnings to avoid us. The route was flat with enough marshalls and good support but not PB unless your very fast and can manage to start at the front.... Date of review: September 3, 2006

In short: you get to run down the hill for a warm up but this just kills the calf muscles In full: A brilliant race with loads of the fairer sex rising to the challenge. Thoroughly enjoyed it although I had to admit defeat and walk between 1/2 mile til the 3/4 mile mark... it started to ease off thenb for the final 1/4..... A waiting lager helped the recovery. This would suit all as its so much fun and it even seems to cause problems for the very fit so everyone is in the same boat. Congratulations to the organisers for another great race Date of review: August 15, 2006

In short: Brilliant views and the race gives you a real sense of achievement when you finish In full: A lovely evening in a beautiful setting. Not a personal best course but it is challenging so a great feeling when you finish. The organisation and marshalling was great and it was a friendly bunch of runners which helped when doing it for the first time. The water stations were very welcoming and I'm so glad that I decided to run it. Date of review: July 13, 2006
