In short: This is actually the 2009 race!!
In full: Have done this 3 times now and love it- really well organised and marshalled and the public come out in their droves to cheer- special mention to the guy who sits on his driveway at the top of the hill playing motivational music- much appreciated!! Two and a bit lap up and down course- the hill isn't horrendous (provided you train hills!) but is pretty long. Loads of prizes- cash and trophies- and the goody bag's got a Tshirt, water and chocolate, what more could you want!! Well done everyone, thanks for a great day.

In short: Scenic and different
In full: Was able to enter on the day no probs as only just over 100 did it- largely well organised but could have done with a few more marshals as there were places on the course where runners weren't sure which direction to take. Good mix of trail, grass, towpath and track. Very generous with the prizes and nice little goody bag. Linked in with a family fun day and free BBQ for the runners, and excellent host location at Leigh Sports village.

In short: All comers welcome
In full: Really enjoyed this- great to see loads of unattached and even fancy dress participants, a pleasant change from a lot of the "strictly business" club races I do. Clothing van did exactly what it said it would (but if your bag is blue like 90% of sports bags apparently are, you'll have fun finding it in the pile at the end!!) The marshals and crowds were brilliant, all shouting encouragement and the free snacks at the end were very welcome (didnt get a goody bag tho). Only 2 things could have been better- the toilet facilities in Runcorn were filthy and inadequate (one toilet for the girls, no water) and the race started earlier than 9.30 (by maybe 2 minutes) which meant one of my friends missed the start. Fun running over the bridge but if you're going for a PB (which I just missed- there are no big downhills to build speed) you won't get a chance to admire the views over the Mersey. The final third of the race, once you're out of the industrial estate, is the most easy on the racer's eye. Ran back to the start but saw at least 3 big coaches to take people back to their cars.
