In short: Mud, Hills, Jelly Babes and a jet wash to finish In full: This was my first year at MVP and will be back next year. Pompey Joggers organisation was faultless except for the lack of toilets at the Sustainability Centre, maybe they can get a few Porta Loos for next year. The water and food stations were well placed and well stocked, even for a slow coach like me. I appreciated the bloke with the jet wash at the end for cleaning trainers and the soup was the best I have every tasted.
Well done for a really enjoyable race. Date of review: February 11, 2007
In short: Rain and more rain and a PB In full: What a race, dispite the weather but who can change that, the overall race was fantastic. It was my second GSR and just as enjoyable as last year. I set a PB by over 9 minutes so I can't complain and will be back next year. Shame the TV coverage was only on CH5 at midnight. Give the TV rights to the BBC and make a show of it like they do the Great North. Date of review: October 25, 2006
In short: Hot, Hilly but excellent rac In full: Dispite the hot well, the organisers can't change that, the race was brilliant. Well organised and the supporters on the course were brilliant. Especially the family with the hose pipe and jelly babies around 10 miles.
The hills were plentiful but the race website mentions them, so you are warned.
plenty of drinks and sponges around the course ans at the end.
