In short: Flat race, lovely scenery In full: This was my first time at Bournemouth, and had a really good time. I thought the race was very well organised and came across no problems what so ever. We were very lucky with the weather, not too hot and only a slight breeze. Had it been windy I can imagine I would have been sand blasted for most of the race. My only gripe and I was very surprised that this would be my gripe, was the marshalls (well 90% of them) I have never come across such miserable marshalls. Only a few were encouraging and gave you a kind word. The rest just stood there with an arm out pointing. Some areas of the route were very quiet and it would have been nice if they had shouted a few encouraging words. That said I did get a PB and would like to go back next year and do the 10k. In short: Hilly, challenging race. In full: Great organisation as ever. Great t-shirt and free photo. Hilly route that doesn't get any easier but I must be getting better as I managed to run both of the shocking hills this year. Marshalls are great and atmosphere lovely. The winners are incredibly fast and my hat goes off to them over such a demanding course. See you next year... This was my 4th year, as have done this race from the first one. Perhaps I will get an anniversary prize next year.

In short: Hard work In full: This was my second time doing Drogo and someone said to me that Drogo is an expereince and not a race. I agree. Organisation brilliant although the safety briefing lady at the start needed a megaphone. There were a few stupid individuals who tried to overtake on very narrow slippery paths with nasty drops, and nearly succeeded in taking a few runners out when they slipped. There are 2 very steep hills and are real lung busters. The rest of the route is undulating. The scenery at the top of the hills is fantastic. The only reason I wouldn't do it again is that I have done it twice and fancy a change. Date of review: November 22, 2010

In short: Fantastic place. Terrible organisation In full: I can only say that I agree with everything that everyone else has said. I hope the organisers take note as it is the most lovely place to run. PLEASE don't say that you are giving us a commerative towel, when it was an excuse for a flannel!!! and please put in place for people to defer or at least transfer if they cannot run. I get the feeling that this race is all about the money.... which is such a shame. Date of review: October 18, 2010

In short: Fantastic scenery, great race In full: Do not be put off by the elevation profile that is put on the website. A few undulations in the first 5k, 1 steep hill but did not last very long. Fantastic views mainly off road, lovely route and great organisation. See you next year. Date of review: August 15, 2010

In short: Hilly, hilly and hilly, amazing scenery In full: This race is one of the best races I have been to for fantastic scenery. Its a very hilly race and is not for the faint hearted. Well organised with lots of marshalls and arrows. The weather was very hot and the river was very welcome half way round. BUT, a jar of jam as your momento.....why? what a shame, would have loved a moment that would remind me of my struggle. Date of review: June 20, 2010

In short: Hilly, muddy, wet, muddy, hilly In full: I was told this race was Brutal and I can say that it was. Firstly we had to park quite a way from the start, but at least we used that s our warm up. As it has been raining most of the week it was extremely muddy. The hills were hard and I spend most of my time slipping back down them. A few river crossings thrown in for good measure so that you could wash some of the mud off before caking yourself in some more. The marshalling was great until near the end where we ran out of Saucony tape and went the wrong way as there was no marshall there so wasted 5 mins on that. When we eventually finished was told that there was only XL t-shirts left. I find that really annoying as you pay the same money as everyone else and just because you are near the back you miss out. Great scenery and a beautiful place but would only do again if the weather is better the week before so that I could finish in time to get a t-shirt to fit. Date of review: February 28, 2010
