In short: I'll be back now I know where this one is.
In full: I'm surprised to see so few reviews. Some people possibly put off by the fact it's a (mainly) unmarked, unmarshalled course but it really is quite difficult to go wrong. Slightly too hot weather, fantastic scenery, well-placed checkpoints where you could have your own bottles / snacks waiting for you. A grand day out.

In short: More undulating than I remember
In full: Fast, fairly tough run through the ups and downs of Epping Forest. I was surprised at how much mud a relatively small amount of rain could generate and it proved particularly difficult to remove from both me and my shoes. Cracking run, well-attended, I was happy to be less than a minute slower than last (dry) year.
Slight difficulty finding the cricket club but at least tea, food and beer were there just as at the old clubhouse.
Thanks again to the marshalls, particularly those on road-crossing duty.

In short: Friendly, flat, LDWA style run round the scenic side of Bedford.
In full: Small but perfectly formed race following (very clear) instructions rather than a marked route. Some country roads but mostly trails and tracks over the fields and footbridges of Bedford. Well organised even down to a lift from the station. I'd be happy to return should this become a regular event.

In short: Really well organised, flat, scenic ultra. Open pub makes for great start.
In full: Follows the Thames Path from Oxford to Henley, a good introduction to ultra running as the navigation is quite straightforward for the most part. Organisation great from pick-ups at the station to variety of food at checkpoints. Can't fault it.

In short: What else were you planning on doing on New Year's Day?
In full: Weather cold but bright which suited me. Organisation flawless (no queues! Start right by the toilets, loads of marshalls). Same route as last year which I like as you get to see more of the park and I got a PB. Can't ask for more (well the hat's rather large but it will keep me warm).

In short: Superbly organised and very generous
In full: My first LDWA event and it won't be my last. Route instructions were flawless - I had no problem following them. Scenery was beautiful, organisation was fantastic and friendly (lift to and from station, variety of sandwiches (including chocolate!) at checkpoints and a full meal afterwards. I wouldn't expect a medal as it's not a race and is great as it is.

In short: Great scenic race for beginners and veterans alike.
In full: Genuinely undulating run through quiet country lanes, nicely judged so you don't really notice you're doing a couple of laps. Fantastic marshalling and support and well-placed water provision on a warm day.

In short: Good, old-fashioned cross country.
In full: Scenic, friendly, undulating run through Epping Forest. Probably less tough than most years as the course was pretty dry but enough hills to provide a challenge. Nice location, good organisation, marshalls both cheery and brave in the face of Essex traffic.
