In short: Rural scenery and the joie de vivre blended seemlessly. In full: A really enjoyable local event. No wonder it was popular in 2004. How can a local club can lay on the benefits for 200 that the FLM boasts for 35000? OK maybe I exagerate a tad, but Free massage? Nice gong? Pace/route vehicles? ------ Even the FLM don't do spot prizes! Hang on a minute, I'm going to email a mate so you can have a new course record. Dan? Date of review: May 14, 2005
In short: Blow the cobwebs away on this mildly undulating, very rural (mmmm....aaaagh!) course near the River Severn. In full: The best bit is that it starts and finishes near a good pub. 200 or so entrants, and it's a good opener for the year. Date of review: December 7, 2004
In short: It gets better every year In full: This is an enjoyably scenic city centre road race that has particular highlights. The barrage, the parks, the Docks, the period '30s housing, the Castle, and of course a finish in The Millennium Stadium, no less. Book your hotel now, ready for next years race. In short: 2 PBs in 2 years. Very friendly, and all classes of runners attend In full: A good one lap course. Stroud may be the centre of 5 valleys, but the route cleverly goes the other way towards the Severn Valley.
1000 entrants mean that you are never alone, but not jostled either. All standards run, and excellent support, especially towards the end.
OK so it's my local race............... Date of review: September 13, 2004
