In short: Nasty weather couldn't spoil this one, a lovely friendly race
In full: Very grizzley weather with a strong head wind in places. Very well organised with spirited support from marshals, who let's face it had to stand out there in misle from beginning to end. Nice appropriate goody bag with very nice fitted t-shirt this year - a lovely touch. Definitely one to recommend :)

In short: still buzzing now!
In full: was just everything i wanted it to be and more. Was quite frightened by the sheer scale of it (the scenery only gets a 5 btw for the bridge and the support along the was as a lot of it is dual carriageway)but just amazing, was so pleased with the entire day.

In short: Awesome but...
In full: I've done a couple of these now, Ragley Hall and Stowe, and it seems to me that for a race series that will attract a lot of first time runners the courses are quite challenging and there is not enoug done to make ths plain to entrants. Otherwise it was great, the funniest warm-up i've seen and a beautiful run with many up's and what seemed less-many downs. Would just like to thank Rob who i ran with from 8K. It was great to finish with you and thanks for your support and motivation.

In short: Enjoyable race with challenging hills for beginner
In full: Very good support most of the way round. Only minor niggle is that i found the last few K through the estate a bit maze like...would like to try it in reverse though...downhill anyone?!? :)

In short: Warm friendly atmosphere
In full: Generally very good. I felt that some of the km markers may have been slightly inaccurate but also have no real evidence to back it up other than one of my splits was two minutes over my conservative pace and i know that, for me, i was running at my fastest pace. I was concerened that some Under 12's may have got caught up in the 7K race when they should have been destined for the 1 mile. Enjoyed the hills, marshalling was good, scenery excellant as was the support who were there.

In short: I didn't really enjoy this one but really wanted to...
In full: Just a few things really..
1. A couple of portaloos at the start would have been really helpful. Not to get too much into detail but i like to visit one twice before a race and although there were some in the nearby leisure centre they were a god 5 minute walk away. Not really helpful in terms of needing a quick pee before claiming a position on the start.
2. The steep climb. Firstly if people needed to walk it would have been polite to move to oene side, although it was narrow to allow the people who could run it. Secondly. If the first five K were done in 'reverse' then it would be less congested as the ield spread out as it was, there was a complete bottleneck.
3. yes the funnelling was crap when i got there. The Not The Roman IX had a smaller field and three funnels that were slightly shorter. I was quite dehydrated by the end and the queuing to get into the funnel was horrendous (and i'm sorry to anyone who i may have got in front of, it was completely unintentional) and then the seemingly endless walk to the end did not help. Advice 'not to collapse' in the event information amlsot contradicted what they were trying to achieve.
4. It was a warm day and i personally would have appreciated a second drinks station at about 7-8K.
5. the crowds were great in the second half of the race

In short: Mad weather the main foe of the day!
In full: As every one has said the weather was , well, crazy! Was getting slight p*****d off that i'd not seen any mile markers between 1 and 4 miles then the penny dropped that they had all blown over. The H2O and water stations were a little manic but i guess they had to contend with the weather too. All the marshalls were very encouraging, and the interatction between fellow runners great! Sorry to the ladies I scared doing the 'Reach' dance routine when the S-Club favourite came on the tannoy and many thanks to the gentleman who about 1/2 mile before the finish, kept shouting at me (encouragingly) to get over the line. Question: Why is footballer wives lady more of a celebrity than solo round the world yachtswoman Dee Caffari? AFter i finished I heard the compere interviewing her.For me, having read about her training in Runners World for FLM, would have been more motivating to hear from her at the start. Minor quibble, but I'm procrastinating getting up and walking around as it hurts too much. Well done everyone.

In short: seriously - where's the mug?
In full: Probably been a bit harsh on the ratings and they probably more reflect my overall attitude on the day. Not sure about the airfield, could seem a bit souless. Marshalling was good, although at certain points, particularly the lead up to crossing the M40, no-one seemed sure whether to run on the left or right. That may have been to just people being dim though. Bacon butties and facilities were excellant.

In short: Fab, really enjoyed it, lovely marshalls, great route, great goody bag without being unnecessary or over the top, and a pb :) :) :) :)
