In short: I love this course in my home town but the cost is too much.
In full: A nice flat PB-potential rich course that I love running at any time.
I don't want to come across as a misery guts but I really felt the entry fee was far too high for a 10K. While I fully support Kidney Wales in their cause I feel the event is now more about the charity than running as a sport and for the enjoyment of running itself. I appreciate that road closures etc cost a lot to police and maybe Cardiff County Council should be helping out there?
The t-shirt was pretty awful (pink!) and didn't make any mention of the race itself. Perhaps the entry fee could be slashed by scrapping the t-shirts and the glossy (expensive looking) brochures in the goody bag? I think most runners would be happy with a bottle of water, and a cereal bar or banana.
Sorry, Cardiff 10K, I've always loved this course but if the cost isn't lower next year I'll probably give it a miss.

In short: Does exactly what it says on the tin!
In full: The long hard slog to the top is worth it for both the views and the exhilarating descent. Very friendly marshals, excellent organisation and a wonderful buffet, complete with tea and coffee, at the end. Plus a very nice t-shirt - what more could you want? The first time I have run this race but I'll definitely be back!

In short: A nice scenic race to get out of bed for on a Sunday Morning
In full: A nice scenic race but I knew I hadn't trained quite enough for the distance and nearly got defeated by the steep hill just after mile 8. Nice friendly marshalls and good organisation.

In short: A lovely scenic race despite the windy weather
In full: An enjoyable race which due to the relative flatness enabled me to get a PB, which always puts a smile on my face! A really really windy day though and the wind nearly took me over a couple of times. I do find it a little disheartening having to 'pass' the finish before the end as in this race (around 8km)and having to loop back around to it. I have to make myself make a special effort just to get to the end! I would definitely give this one a go again though as the organisation was superb.

In short: A killer hill on a very hot day
In full: A nice 5K for charity although one of the first I've done with such a lovely steep hill midway. The organisation was good and although the goodie bags were v nice (fancy paperweight etc)I felt that they should have kept the money/donations etc for the charity. (Perhaps just an extra bottle of water because of the heat!?!)

In short: Brilliant!!!
In full: I'm sure some will complain about the few short bottlenecks waiting to get through gates and over stiles etc but for me it was a welcome rest, but thankfully not long enough to start getting too cold. It was a bit odd being beaten up one of the steeper climbs by the dog who was racing. (Likewise i'm glad I got out of the hot tub before the dog got in!)Overall, a fantastic, but crazy, experience!

In short: My first half marathon - found it hard enough for me but a great atmosphere with the finish in the Millenium Stadium
