In short: I've done London now Bupa GNR
In full: Firstly,I didn't get my pb of 1:37 6 mins out very dissapointed.Having said that the day went well otherwise.Great free parking in South Sheilds on arrival.(Get there for half seven and your in with a chance).Metro train to Newcastle great.£2.90 single not bad.Hello to the bloke from Settle on the 8 o clock train.Real character.Baggage buses fab and friendly baggage attendants (thanks).DJ before the start brilliant.Atmosphere electric...Abide with me played over the system was touching. The pens got a bit mad...but enjoyed seeing the celeb Dec.The race itself...very frustrating if your serious about running and want a pb every time dont be fed up when you don't get one.Why were runners with orange start walking at Tyne Bridge...ridiculous.Please be more honest with your finish times.Had to zig zag past slowers for 13 miles gave up the pb at mile 10.The folk around the housing estates in Gateshead & SSheilds were marvellous people.Ice pops water oranges sweets sprayed with hose pipe.On pair with London people. You are great people in the North East.No probs getting my luggage back and the walk in South Sheilds back to my car was nice...Lovely place SS nice chippies might go for a break there one day.Drive home not as bad as I thought to Yorkshire. All in all a long day 13 hours in total...but at least I can say Ive done it.Might come back for another go in afew years but races really like London marathon,Leeds Half,Liversedge half and Humber Half are special and def worth going back year after year. Please note park at SS it saves you the hassle of transport if you're going home straight after the race.FINALLY THANKS TO ALL WHO HELPED ON THE DAY & ESPECIALLY TO THE CROEDS IN GATESHEAD & SOUTH SHIELDS.

In short: Brilliant Leeds Thank You I got my pb
In full: Cant believe I got my pb..1 hr 37 previous best 1 38 at the Brass Monkey in Jan.Tapering for Edinburgh marathon i had planned to run 8.5 min/mile..I felt great after 3 miles so really went for it and reaped the benefits. The organisation was superb..water/gatorade and sponges every 2 miles made it the best half for me by far.The crowd were uplifting...Special thanks to the bloke who spurred me on from the sides at mile 7..Great running he said...That made me get my pb in my eyes.Medal nice and teeshirt...A must do race for anyone...Thanks Leeds I will be back next year..And well done on LUFC promotion from a Brdaford City Follower!!!!

In short: Well done horsforth
In full: Before the start the lucozade lass was superb with the frebies of juice, bars and gells thanks nice one!I then met an old friend from my college days at bratfud and got talking and quite frankly n.early missed the start. The start reminded me of the chevin chase tight compact and no real start off which was dissapointing. This cost me my pb at 44 mins.Having struggled the first km getting past the slower runners i had ground to make up the hills at the first two were great and really enjoyed the canal bit with the barges by our side....welcoming this run was pleasant and scenenic.I missed my pb 1 minute but the tee shirt afterwards made it rewarding.Superb quality technical tee shirt hats off horsforth great mornings runnings well done to everyone i will be back next year nearer the front at the start!
