In short: Superb race In full: Did the 20 (19) miler, Will be back for the 33. Left OS map in work but no panic as well signposted and never had to refer to route notes (Would recommend taking them though in case livestock eat direction arrows) Excellent facilities at HQ, Well marshalled & well stocked checkpoints. Very scenic. Post race food very much appreciated & an original proper local pottery made mug as a momento Date of review: May 17, 2011

In short: 3rd time - Siad after the first one I wouldn't do it again In full: Addictive. Forgot how long that last climb was, Scenic descent makes you realize the height you've gained. Well placed water & jelly baby stations. One day it will be cooler. Parking issues out of organisers hands by the sound of it Date of review: April 19, 2011

In short: Ronseal In full: Timed to coincide with training for marathon runners. Scenic once out of the industrial estate. Good & useful t-shirt. Busier road junctions well marshalled, Water station not ready at far end of loop on first lap. Weather picked up throughout the day, possibly more water required but think the weather may have caught them out Date of review: March 14, 2011

In short: Tough In full: Tough race. Progressively harder the further you go. Done this a couple of times before although the last ditch was not pleasant & could easily have ruined a pleasant run, walk, climb, slide. Had a fellow runner catch Ecoli at a similar type of event & this did not have a ditch next to a farm. Yes make it fun, mud & water but not slurry Date of review: March 14, 2011

In short: Tough !! In full: Tricky conditions. Excellent support from spectators, Good that organisers suggest where to watch from. Marshalling good esp as they had to stand out in the cold & wet for a while, A couple were half asleep though, luckily I knew the course from a previous year. Thought directions in the entry pack were ample to find HQ. Sign post to start probably the only missing thing for those that are not local Date of review: February 14, 2011

In short: That'll work off the previous nights excesses In full: 3rd year running I have done this. Nornally drive down from Bristol but stayed nearby so was burning off the guinness. Excellent way to start the new year. Well marshalled & yet again a nice little memento for a free run (Hope the charity box was full) Fridge magnet an original idea Date of review: January 4, 2011

In short: That was a bit chilly In full: Excellent race. Pretty much last years course in reverse. Good decision to cut out the river & then smash a hole in the lake for a chilly dip right at the end. Wooded section really good fun & nice support from the Donkeys & Chickens. Shame on those who cut corners on the obstacle course. Nice goody bag & nice to see a change in momento from last year (Nothing wrong with last years but I have too many water bottles) new hat much appreciated. Good bonfire to huddle around pre & post race. Excellent Cafe & shower facillities. Worth the drive from Bristol Date of review: November 29, 2010

In short: Made so much easier by the friendly banter In full: This was a tough one. My first ultra and the terrain was challenging. My walk uphill & run the rest tactics worked well. Due to the walkers/runners/elite spacing in groups going off you were not far from any other competitor thoroughout the 3 days. A quick "hello, are you suffering as well" really helped during the tough times. Good choice for the overnight stay, everything well communicated & both venues were withing walking (Albeit slow) distance of shops, cashpoints & pubs (I avoided the latter) I misheard the t-shirt collection at the finish so did not pick one up, e-mailed Neil (The Chief) & has replied within a couple of hours about popping one in the post. Just one example of how well this event is organised. Hope the Ridgeway sign isn't missing at mile 7 next year!! Date of review: November 16, 2010
