In short: Excellent until the baggage bus.........
In full: Great weather, PB, fantastic crowds. It ought to be perfect but.... From reading other reviews, I was lucky to be towards the front and didn't have lots of problems with overcrowding although a certain amount of dodging from side to side was necessary. Pre-race, during, and the initial finish area were great for me, but the baggage bus experience, chaotic 40 minute wait to get bag back, and then 2 hours to get back into Newcastle, even on a supposed 'priority' coach, took the gloss off a memorable weekend. My first GNR. Not sure about another one.

In short: It gets better every year.
In full: This is the 4th time I've had the privilege to take part in this amazing event and it gets better every time I do it. Lucky enough to record a PB of 4:17 this time. Everything has already been said about the crowds on the course but I can feel the hairs standing up on the back of my neck just thinking about it. Would love to be back next year but maybe I should give someone else a chance to experience this unique occasion.

In short: Great day, enjoyed every minute.
In full: Enjoyed it much better than Silverstone which I ran in 2004. Excellent atmosphere and course. Only slight downside as mentioned elsewhere was the wait for bags at the end. Hope to be back next year.
