In short: The most fun I've had wearing a head torch. In full: Really good race, well organised and excellent atmosphere. The obstacles were on the whole easy to negotiate but fun although the slippery slope was a problem to most. The woods especially the scary wood were interesting. Date of review: April 5, 2011

In short: If you like to be have mud up to your nipples - do it. In full: One of the best organised races of this type I have had the pleasure to take part in. Parking brilliant, right next to race area, the race itself has a good mix of faster sections and chest deep sludge and hills. Looking at the photos it looks like I'm trying to put Dynarod out of business. Well filled goody back, good technical T-shirt. Results service did what it says it does. In short: Great race just need to sort out logistics. In full: Car-parking as has been mentioned before was a nightmare. Yes, the route was shortened but managed to cram in enough mud and hills to keep everyone occupied. My biggest gripe was the abitary way in which the waves were sorted out - really glad that I decided I'd fifnish higher up the field some deserved a first wave start and I think I justified it! Despite some of the issues which can be addressed by downsizing in some way this is a craking event which I will make the 2.5 hour journey to come back to. Date of review: November 8, 2010

In short: Most improved race of the year............... In full: Organisers have taken on board all the problems from last year and have resolved them. Turning the route around worked brilliantly, the parking was really good, the improved road closures meant a start on time and the finish funnel area was one of the best that I have seen outside of a major City marathon/half-marathon.

In short: 12k assualt course In full: 2nd year of taking part, this year I went for the earliest wave and was aiming to break an hour. Managed it by 90 seconds. Absolutely made up. That aside I did really enjoy the race. Really tough, great comradeship at the obstacles. When's next years event? Date of review: October 10, 2010

In short: Quality Short Race. In full: Well organised, good venue, very well marshalled - closure of start / finish roads and around the marker to mile 3 makes it very safe for runners. The course is flat to mildly undulating so good for the speed freaks. For £10 it is very generous - a technical t-shirt and a goody bag with 3 drinks and 2 snacks. And there's gun to finish chip timing as well. Date of review: August 2, 2010

In short: Cracking Race. In full: I'll confess to the Hinckley Half being organised by my club. However, it's organisation goes from strength to strength. The route in the rural area south of Market Bosworth which makes it very scenic.
The race venue has opportunities for supporters to entertain themselves while the run is progressing in the lanes.
T shirt is good quality, and there's no attempt to provide a goody bag full of junk.
I finally put my apologies in about my dog making an horrendous noise around the 2 mile mark, I think the some runners might have added extra yards to the race to avoid being near him, he was a bit miffed that he wasn't running with me and really wanted to join in with anyone. In short: The rain helped to make sure there was enough mud. In full: A very nice Saturday morning race. Very nice course well supported, good marshals and reasonable support in the villages. The finish was good flat and could be a sprint if you felt like it. Good showers which were needed. Date of review: April 5, 2010
