In short: Keeps getting better
In full: Have now done this three times and I think it gets better year on year. Easy parking, relaxed atmosphere and lots of cheering at the end. Good barbecue- it was only the smell of bacon that kept me going at the end.

In short: Better than last year
In full: I liked the slightly changed course- stopped the twists and turns over the bridge by the river. The wind killed me but it turned into a bit of a training run. Got lapped at around five miles, but got a second wind and enjoyed the final mile- you could count down the metres by the rowing signs. I enjoyed it more on a Sunday morning than on a Friday evening.

In short: Great organisation and a speedy course
In full: I love races that use a rugby club as a base (Retford, Notfast etc) as you can get some Guinness afterwards! Very fair course with only one slight hill. Tons of marshals, easy parking and plenty of water. A hot day and with me coming back from illness I was a little down on time. Good day, however, and I enjoyed the finish in front of the rugby stand.

In short: What goes up must come down
In full: A game of two halves, Brian. Vigorously uphill for the first half and then downhill to the end to complete the loop. For me, this meant ten minute miles to half way and then seven minute miles to the end. The walk up hill back to the car park then nicely stretched my aching calves. Good organisation, friendly marshals and a good start / finish. Good effort by the organisers for a first running of this event.

In short: Didn't respect the weather
In full: Easy parking, loads of marshalls (who were very encouraging in the main) and lots of portable toilets spread across the route. As with many others, I collapsed on the Greenway. About half an hour outside my target but the sun just sucked all the energy out of my legs.

In short: Worth Doing
In full: Second time of doing this one for me. Took it a lot more steady this time and really enjoyed every minute of it. The drag from 9M to 11M was still pretty harsh, so you've got to keep a bit in reserve for that. Treated myself to a bacon sandwich and pint of Guinness at the end in the clubhouse.

In short: Ouch!!!
In full: I did the 6 miler last year and it was fun. Why did nobody tell me that the last 6 miles of the 13 were all uphill over ploughed fields? Really enjoyed it in spite of this. Big up to the marshalls and thank you for the bits of Mars Bars. I cramped up on one of the last stiles and nearly had to be helped down by some of the walkers. Great sports holdall momento- will definitely do this one again.

In short: The best finish I've ever done
In full: Very busy at the start, but no worse than the usual start at the school and you soon got into your stride. Some undulations but nothing horrible. Bit of an uphill drag from KM 7 - 8 just after Scarcliffe. A fantastic downhill final km and then an amazing finish along the terrace at the castle with the crowd cheering on either side. Then into the castle courtyard for a chip-timed finish. Very special.

In short: Peppa and George like jumping in muddy puddles
In full: Fantastic morning. Normally in weather like that, I'd have rolled over and gone back to sleep, let alone jump on the trails. But today was fabulous. Brilliant marshals, a good course and loads to do for the wife and kids. The YHA opened up for coffee and all the shops in the Craft Centre were open for last minute Xmas gifts. There was even a Robin Hood festival afterwards. One of my favourite races of the year- cheers, Reg and Karen

In short: I'm still drying out!
In full: Nice course- firm but fair. Easy parking and good changing facilities. Great marshals and a fantastic football shirt-style technical T-shirt. Even the rain didn't spoil it.
