In short: Great confidence builder for London - really enjoyed this!!
In full: As i am preparing for my first marathon i used this as a training run and didn't race meaning that as a plodder i was at the back for most of the race. The marshalls were fab and the chap on the bike who kept track of the back runners gave encouragement but didn't rush me but let me know that if i needed anything to ask is a credit to the club! Couple of energy sapping inclines but very scenic. Would do again!

In short: Good race, well organised
In full: The one issue i have is that they use a megaphone at the start of the race to announce ?? and as i was near the back i couldn't hear a word of it! Perhaps the person with the megaphone could stand in the middle to do the talking bit then go to the front for the start??!?!?
Thanks to all encouraging marshalls.

In short: A 'got to do race'
In full: but i think that once may be enough, i really enjoyed the race, spectators and volunteers were fab! Took nearly 2.5 hours to get back to Whitley Bay and T-Shirt could have been a wicking one were the downsides to the race. If i do again i won't take spectators.
Got a PB so really happy with that!!

In short: Really enjoyed this despite the weather
In full: In my opinion this race was well organised the course was good as we got to see the elites coming back and took in a lot of sights.
The organisers cannot be held responsible for the weather it just spoiled the spectator support really.
Could have been improved by putting people in time order as i did lots of zig zagging to overtake people, and a couple of people nearly knocked me over trying to overtake me. I am looking forward to doing another big race! Thanks to marshalls!!

In short: Great race, great t-shirt would have been even better with chip timingg
In full: I really enjoyed this one was too hot for PB but the course was great, marshalls and crowd very supportive - thanks to the guy spraying his hose pipe!! Very impressed with Montane t-shirt. Start/Finish areas packed but that is always going to be the case with a race this size. Only thing to improve would be chip timing, times were not taken until you got to the end of the finishing tunnels which would add to your time. Thanks to organisers.

In short: Good race let down by the finish
In full: Delayed start but we were kept informed what was happening so that was OK, personally i did not have a good race and felt ill so really needed water at the finish line after doing the best sprint finish i could manage! Only to join a queue that was not moving at all luckily officials started handing water round so i did get some. I then grabbed a L t-shirt as couldn't be bothered to wait for a M and got out of there. Had to post chip in the envelope provided as didn't know what to do with that. My hubby stayed on the course to cheer me round then couldn't get anywhere near the finish which was very disappointing. Would have been better to have the finish where the official car park was (although don't know where we'd park?) Have filled in questionnaire recieved with race pack so hopefully organisers will take note. Good facilities, changing and showers at the leisure centre afterwards. I would do this race again as quite local - hopefully with improvements in 2009.

In short: Good course for beginners and PB's
In full: Mistakes happen and the organisers can hardly be blamed for the weather! I hope this year doesn't put people off entering next year.
