In short: The goodie bag, the bad and the ugly In full: The goodie bag with t-shirt, lucozade and other bits and bobs and the medal were really good. As was the atmosphere in the race village and number of facilities available at the start.
I also thought it was good to run on closed roads and the route was ok with a nice fairly challenging long hill at half way.
As everyone else has said the start was pretty bad; you had to laugh at the warm up starting 2 minutes before the race started with everyone crammed in like sardines. And although I am no elite by any means it did take a while to get past slower runners up front as the race began and is something that could be improved.
The ugly/ most frustrating thing for me was in my attempt to run for a specific time I trusted the pacer and didn't bother with my watch; when I eventually thought I had caught the right one at about 3k (as there was no chance of getting near them at the start), I passed them and merrily pushed on thinking job done. When I saw the clock at the finish I was outside the paced time, so my jubilation quickly turned to disappointment - have to take this as a lesson learned - use watch.
This said, I do think this is a good friendly race for beginners and if your not bothered about achieving a time would recommend.

In short: Great flat run with the sea in view nearly all the way In full: A nice friendly well organised race. The sea is in view for 99% of the time and the wet and windy weather all add to the atmosphere and made it great fun.
The marshalls offered great support all the way - thanks. Date of review: December 7, 2009

In short: Nice venue, tough course, nightmare to get there In full: Leeds castle is a cracking place to run round, the course was a good mix of terrain and tough in places and good atmosphere when your there. Getting there was a nightmare again, its a joke to be stuck on the motorway for so long (despite having arrived in good time) for what is not a massive number of people taking part in an event. In short: Nice Local race In full: Really enjoyed it, fast course with no real hills through some really nice countryside. Finish could have been a bit clearer but all in all a fun race. Thanks to the marshalls & lads handing out water - it was needed on a such a hot day. Date of review: June 28, 2008
