In short: Fantastic fun
In full: Well I knew from the location that I would not get a Personal best...but I got a Personal Worst and it was one of the best days of fun I've had in a long time!
The course was 'undulating' in the extreme....whose idea was that hill? When wearing a big yellow foam suit in high 20s temperature and add those hills it makes for a slow old course.
The Marshalls though - they can make or break a race and here they were fantastic - the drinks stations were so well stocked they were worth a 5 minute break with the fruit, gels, water, pretzels and wine, and the sponge station at #4 was very welcome.
From start to finish this was a winner of a day, and one that if a definite date for next year.
Thankyou all!

In short: Splendid friendly race
In full: What a lovely race, ample parking and very organised number collection for those entering on the day. The morning was filthy weather though the rain stopped a few hours before the race luckily, this made for some road-width puddles in places but this just added to the challenge.
The marshals were very encouraging, and the sweeper marshal ran with 2 dogs - a good incentive to keep moving else you'd get licked to death :)
The finish was well organised with decent goodie-bag and medal. Good selection of home-made refreshments including cakes/cookies/flapjacks available and hot/cold drinks - in all a lovely 'family' race and most certainly one for the calendar in future.

In full: Lovely friendly race, super Marshall who were really encouraging. I do hate that Foreshore though, just seems to go on forever on the way back - though a necessary evil to keep off-highway.
Was gutted at first re no medal, then opened the box and was quite was pleasantly surprised at the memento.
Will definitely do this again.

In short: Fantastic 1st marathon
In full: I have no other marathons to compare this to, however it was just spot-on from all angles. Great value, lovely atmosphere, supportive and friendly marshals, and everything worked like clockwork.
The mile 21-24 was mind numbingly boring, but heck, that is a small price to pay for the rest of it.
Spectators were lovely wit giving out loads of jelly-babies, home-made fruit cakes and toasting us with their wine as we ran past (only being offered a large G&T would have made it perfect!).

In short: Splendid race, terrific organisation
In full: What a lovely race. Comms before the day spot-on and not to the point of spam as some other races. The day itself was set of by glorious weather (okay I know this can't be controlled but it was an added bonus). Car parking with ease, number and chip pickup fast, good start atmosphere.
The race itself was made a lovely course, with added interest of bridges and changes of running surface (all dry).
The Marshalls, well what can I say? They were great - really encouraging for those of us who are not at the front of the pack, and cracking sense of humour from them. It really is the Marshalls who can make or break a race and you have some great people there.
My 8 year old enjoyed the childrens' race - albeit she was a bit disappointed not to get any medal - but she understood once I explained that, with no entry fee payable for the children's races that the money was best spent on the African water charity. Maybe in coming years it could be a fee-paying race for children so they could get a medal? Ahyhow she was pacified when she commandeered my medal!
Thankyou so much, we'll be back next year.

In short: Splendid race - from entering to the finishing line
In full: What a superb race, I was dreading it after I entered on a whim and then....looked at the course hill profile(!)
The whole organisation was like clockwork, the race pack received and very comprehensive in plenty of time. The HQ was welcoming and efficient with the TShirts. Start was on time. The Marshalls....well what can I say here? - except heartfelt thanks to you all - you were truly fantastic with your words of encouragement and motivation. There were a couple of hairy moments with one pr*t in a silver LandRover en route who obviously could not comprehend the signs, not verbal warnings of "this read is closed" and gaily drove along forcing a couple of us out of the way into the pasth of oncoming traffic - but the marshall in the area did his best to get the obviously 'short of grey matter' chap to understand (to no avail but heck, some people are just beyond hope and I fear this driver was in a world of his own).
The finish was lovely, I was near the back of the field but the welcome 'home' was rousing with a name check and mention of running club.
Was a shame that the goodie bags had run out, very surprised at that, but I guess some people with faster times must have taken two (grrr to them).
In conclusion - hats off for such a splendid race, great organisation and you all deserve a big thankyou!

In short: Splendid day, sunshine must have been ordered in specially!
In full: What a lovely race. VERY well organised, chip collection - no queues. Loos - plenty and only 5 min queues. Baggage - not sure - used my Husband.
Slight delay at start but that was no issue. The course was lovely and flat, toward the end lovely views over the Solent and the sensible people sailing rather than running. The part thru' Daedalus was lovely and confusing so one never had any idea how much longer...and I mean this sincerely...I hate 'knowing' how much farther to go on familiar roads so this was a wiggly change.
The Marshalls were *superb* and so friendly, really encouraging - special thanks to them all :)
I was right near the back due to injury but everyone was just so supportive, a lovely friendly race and one I will be back for next year.
Oh and what a super goodie-bag - how refreshing not to have one full of 'bits' that one will never use, and instead to have real 'goodies' to refuel with. Well done the cake bakers!
