In short: superb HX, well done
In full: great value event, perfect setting, good marshalling, size choice of T-shirts right to the end, good support from the fair people of Marlow, nice medal.

Few comments / questions to the organizers: couldn't hear the tannoy at the back of the start pen; start is getting a bit crowded; is there a way to reduce the number of turns in the course?

In short: superb, again
In full: it must be difficult to make an event as large as this one run so smoothly but somehow Reading does it. Well done and thanks (again).

In short: organizers got unlucky with the weather but you must plan for it being bad in Feb!
In full: the roads were closed, the course is pretty fast, there was plenty of water, free tea at the end (thanks!), plenty of people and it's reasonably scenic. This should make for a good race but the start line chaos and baggage tent farce really spoilt the whole thing. I didn't enjoy starting a road race in a state like I'd already run an XC!! I was comparing this to my experience at Fleet last year - they are very similar races, the only difference was perhaps the weather. Sure, WHM was unlucky but it's Feb and they have to cater for that.

In short: good race but a couple of gripes
In full: 1. the map of the course in the booklet was wrong. Very frustrating for my wife who was spectating
2. why the delay to the start? Looked like the organisers just weren't ready.

Otherwise, great marshalls, plenty of drinks stations, chip timing, good goody bag, interesting course (even for 2 laps), field for the men to use, and well run parking.

In short: the Queen dictates the start time even when she's not at home (she wasn't today!)
In full: I ran round with my Dad who put in an incredible effort on this hot day / tough course. I was just left with a really bad taste in my mouth when we were told we could only have one drink of water at the end! It was similar at the drinks stations - that's not really good enough. Add this to the naff medal and lack of goody bag and I wouldn't recommend this one even though the start is right by my front door and it a really lovely course.

In short: nice route - some (easy) organisational changes would make this a great race
In full: I got quite lost trying to find the start; below BOTF references some signs but I didn't see them and I wasn't the only one; furthermore, the map on the race pamphlet was hopeless. The start through the gate is also a bit silly, particularly if the field were to get bigger. Finally, I'd rather not receive a really crap (recycled?) medal like that, just don't bother. Nice route (the hill makes it a bit different!) set-up and venue so improve on these basics and this could become a very popular race. My honest feedback is aimed to help this.

In short: well organized event; great location; interesting course
In full: A well organized event in a great location. I did wonder if the goody bags had run out by the time I finished; they hadn't, they just didn't exist which made £16 a bit steep in my opinion. However, this shouldn't detract from the fact that this is a most enjoyable race on an interesting course with very good marshalling. Thanks Burnham Joggers

In short: superb; thanks Handy Cross
In full: great goody bag (particulary for the low entry fee), superb organization, lovely start / finish area in the park. No complaints with the event only some of the other runners (why go to the front if you are going to run 35 or 36 minutes? Ridiculous.)
