In short: good race, may need an out of town start next year if more than 15,000 runners! In full: overall, very good, i did Cardiff last week with the same amount of runners and Birmingham was a lot lot better!. ok bottleneck at the start and i would suggest 15000 entries is as much as Broad street can handle, perhaps alexandra statium on the walsall road could cope better for the amount of runners that next year would undoubtably attract.
but no i have done five marathons and a few halves the last 12 months and Birmingham was a treat......loved it ;0) Date of review: October 24, 2010
In short: HARD!!!!! the welsh sure do know how to make a marathon hard...but good In full: Well what can i say, this was my 5th marathon and really i should have expected it to be hilly (Well it was in Wales) but i must admit I cried like a baby at 16 miles and I was convinced that my time would me measured on calender, this course must have been mapped by a Royal MARINE!!!
All said though I am glad I did this marathon and only 8 or so minutes off PB which I am really proud of because the course was like nothing I had run before! the road sign at 2 mile was a nice touch....14% incline warning triangle as it gave us a clue as what was to come ;)
The course stewards and officials were so good, it was as if each of them Had a personal wish for you to do well and they really made the route safe and secure loads of water, energy drink, sweets bananas, i was convinced i would get a full sunday roast at mile 20!
Scenery was breathtaking, medal was nice, and the public cheered you like you was a long lost son!!!!
This marathon was designed for Giants and this morning I feel like I could tackle the world,
In short: good but more runners needed in the full marathon In full: Wolverhampton really tries hard for this event, i think more should take part in the full marathon. I know Wolverhampton may not be as romantic as London or New york.....but its still the same distance ;) Date of review: September 7, 2009
