In short: It's hilly not undulating! In full: Tough course but excellent race. Can't fault the organisation at all and the results emailed within a few hours. See you next year but please be honest, it's a tough hilly course! Date of review: September 13, 2009
In short: Brilliant race, a few niggles In full: I smashed my PB, so I may be a little biased. I found this to be an excellent event
Organisation: very well done, started on time (with finish time seeding)and the results were available on-line the next day Course: probably more gently undulating than the promised "flat". The bollards are dangerous but we were warned by a marshall at the start and I didn't have a problem. Lovely scenery around the lakes. Mile markers were an issue - fortunately I have a GPS watch but the 3 boards at 4 miles were very odd! Marshalls - on the whole friendly and encouraging Goodies: nice medal (and a cheap engraving service at the end); water, banana and cereal bar were all fine (I did think we were getting a T-Shirt) Weather: perfect! thanks
I would do it again, it's for a good cause! Date of review: July 27, 2009
In short: Tough undulating race but a great feeling of achievement as you cross the line In full: Well organised, very friendly, very scenic. A tough undulating course, with one nightmare hill (yes I walked it). Water stations were brilliantly placed, the last km was tough but a great feeling of achievement as I crossed the line Date of review: June 21, 2009
In short: Wind and speed at the home of British motor racing In full: An excellent run which I would recommend, Quite tricky because the track is undulating and you are either in strong wind or in the back section very hot.
No start mat for the timing chip was annoying as I advised my colleagues not to go to far forward, so they lost time unnecessarily.
At £7 it was good value for money however no memento is poor! A free bottle of water was all we got, a nice motor racing themed medal would be awesome, I'd pay more for that next year! Date of review: May 19, 2009
In short: Fantastic event, well organised, superb course In full: Well done to the organisers for this superb event with a fantastic course (with 1 hill which wasn't too bad). Water stations were placed by a genius. Good support from the many marshalls and the kind folk of Stratford Date of review: April 27, 2009
In short: Great venue, organisation not so great In full: Race start moved an hour to 12:30 without prior warning (unless you visited the website in the days leading up to the event), basic errors of only 5 toilets so start delayed, why did we run up and down the same side and not around the lake? This caused unnecessary congestion (although was good for the spectators), Lots of water tables on such a hot day were very much appreciated. Sort out the few issues before your April one and I would recommend for those seeking a PB Date of review: March 16, 2009
In short: Now I know what Hilly means, well organised tough 10k In full: Fabulous run through the South Oxfordshire countryside, but OMG those hills. I knew from the first minute it was going to be tough and I still ache in new places 4 hours later. However the marshals, well-wishers, and beautiful countryside made it a fantastic race. I may even do it again! Date of review: March 1, 2009
In short: Well organised, fast 10k, beautiful village In full: I set my PB on this course, the loops around the village are not so bad as the family got to see me 4 times! The out run was a bit lonely and the turn was on a small hill (hich I didn't expect). Very good race, very well organised and marshalled Date of review: February 22, 2009
In short: Fantastic event, well organised In full: My first half marathon which was much tougher than I expected. Can't fault the organisers, beautiful course around London and Hyde Park. Marshalls were excellent as were the thousands of supporters lining the course. Add to this the opportuinity to raise money for some amazing charities and it was the highlight of my year Date of review: October 13, 2008
In short: A Tough 10 miles in the Oxfordshire countryside In full: Very well marshalled, barring one old guy who stepped in front of me. Marshalls were very encouraging. How did they find so many hills? Date of review: September 14, 2008
