In short: Tough but very enjoyable!
In full: A pleasant run through beautiful countryside, with a handful of challenging hills that let your legs know they're there. Always a nice atmosphere at this race - can't think of a nicer way to spend an auntumn morning.

In short: Great race
In full: My first ever half marathon - so I guess I can claim to be one of the few to manage a PB!! Very challenging course - but also totally beautiful.... being a town dweller it was lovely to run for two hours without seeing or hearing a single car. The hills were painful, and the mud made remaining upright a challenge in places (and let's not even dwell on the hill that seemed to me made of mud after about 5 or 6 miles!!). The second half of the course was run over "better" paths - but some steep, sharp hills towards the end made sure that hard work was still required. A word for the marshalls - I don't think I passed a single one of you who didn't offer an encouraging word, which was the icing on the cake for a great race.

In short: Splash!
In full: My first visit to the Aldridge 10k - unfortunately didn't manage to bring any decent weather with me. I finished the race wetter than wet, but not dampened in spirit. Not the easiest of 10k courses, the long incline towards the end poses a challenging barrier to anyone looking for a PB. Marshalls were great throughout. Start was perhaps a little chaotic, with everyone poring onto the road as soon as it was closed which seemed to mix the various abilities leading to more 'jockeying for position' in the opening k than I usually experience. Will definately be back next year, and will remember to pack my snorkel and flippers, just in case!

In short: I'll be back!
In full: Lovely, scenic, course that has the perfect combination of being quick enough to run a good time whilst having sufficent hills for you to know your time was well earned. Organisation and marshalling was very good - the only slight negative being that there was no supervised bag storage area... seemed that it was expected that you would leave things in the car (the car park was, indeed, very close and convenient for this - but it does rely on you having a car parked there in the first place!!). That was my only small gripe though, and it didn't spoil an excellent evening's running. Will be back next year!

In short: PB there for the taking
In full: A fast, scenic course. Organisation was good - the only black marks being the shortage of toilets and a delay to the start (which wouldn't usually be a big issue, but the weather and temperatures weren't ideal for standing around in shorts and t-shirt!!) Plenty of car parking space, efficient marshalling, nice momento and PBs aplenty. A fairly large field, which consisted of runners of all abilities and would be a great 'first 10k' for anyone new to the sport, as well as definate PB potential for more experienced atheletes.

In short: Good, early season challenge.
In full: This was a pleasant, friendly, well organised event. Everything appeared to run very smoothly - no problem getting in or out of the car park, no long walks between the baggage area and the start line, plenty of toilets and a nice, friendly atmosphere all round. The course is a challenge - uphill for the first two miles (the second of which being pretty sharp in places), downhill for the second two, and another climb back towards the finish. The scenery isn't great; the course takes us through some rather uninspiring (and at times run down) urban areas - but I'm pleased to say that this didn't detract too much from an enjoyable morning's running, the atmosphere and friendliness more than making up for it.
