In short: A great race once again In full: An undulating course, which always reminds me of the Ashby 20 (the hill at mile 12 always catches me out!), but thoroughly enjoyable. Good support throughout, helpful and encouraging marshalls, and a top brooks training t-shirt for finishers. Picking up the chips and numbers at the start of the race did cause some queues for the more common surnames, but this is hardly a major gripe! All in all, excellent Date of review: September 6, 2011

In short: Once again, brilliant In full: A superb trail half marathon, with some testing features (the last hill - up to the finish is a real 'treat'!)but some great downhill/ flat sections which can allow for good speed. Overall, a great race - looking forward to next year already! Date of review: July 11, 2011

In short: Another great BBCHM In full: Ran this for the first time last year, and was suitably impressed with the race. This year was, once again, faultless. The waived start is a smashing idea, and meant that we were competing with those whom are expected to finish in roughly the same time. A red hot morning did slow me down over the second half, but a great finish in Brindley Place and a full english at the pitcher and piano (25% off the bill for all runners with a medal!)soon revived tired legs! A top race, looking forward to 2012 Date of review: July 4, 2011

In short: Superb In full: Having missed out on this race through injury in 2009&2010, I finally got a chance this year, and thoroughly enjoyed it! A tricky course, with a lovely climb after 0.5 miles, but near perfect conditions on the evening allowed for some fast times. Great support from the locals, and a lovely finish in Bourton made for a brilliant race! Looking forward to 2012 already Date of review: June 19, 2011

In short: Worth aplying for on New Years Day! In full: I'd heard great things about this race - very scenic, the best 10k in the country etc, and to be fair - I wasn't too disappointed! A nice course (the 'unique' element provided the start at Warwick Castle, and the finish at Kenilworth Castle)with a few reasonable hills meant for a good race. Support was fantastic - even on such a rainy day! A great medal and T-shirt were provided, but why no snacks? Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the day, but boasts of it being the best 10k seem a little bit gererous - the Regency 10k in Leamington has a similar appeal in my opinion. However, come new years day 2012, I have no doubt that again, I shall be sat at my computer, champagne in one hand, visa card in the other, applying for my place! Date of review: June 15, 2011

In short: Another great triple run! In full: My fourth outing at Malvern, and it never dissappoints! Once again, a wonderful race, with great support along the route, friendly marshalls and a lovely course. Some strong winds from mile 10-13 made for a slower finish than I had hoped for, but can't be faulted. Add to this a top medal presented by the lovely Miss Worcester, and you've got the makings of a great race! Date of review: May 30, 2011

2011 21st Knowle Fun Run 5

In short: Fantastic atmosphere and a great event! In full: Congratulations to Knowle - this was a wonderful event with a superb community feel throughout. Organisation was seamless, alhthough I have to make a gripe about the finish - I was mixed in with a big crowd completing their first lap whilst I was on my second, and I was instructed to carry on running - eventually I found a steward to ask, and had to turn back and run to the finish, thus missing 10th place and a PB. Perhaps clearer signage could be utilised? But overall a great event, I'll be back next year to rectify my mistake! Date of review: May 15, 2011

2011 Shakespeare Marathon

In short: Another great marathon In full: My second time doing the full marathon, and again, I can only speak highly of the course, the organisation and the atmosphere along the way. Support can be sparse along the greenway (miles 20-25 for the full marathon), but the finish alongside the RSC theatre and the picturesque banks of the River Avon makes for a great ending! Another excellent medal this year, which - and I always find this nice - was presented to runners by the mayor/members of the Rotary club, rather than being stuffed into a goody bag. Well done Stratford, I look forward to next year! Date of review: May 9, 2011

In short: A great series In full: Again, I'm biased due to this being my clubs race! A superb series of runs hosted by Centurions around Babbs Mill lake. Great atmosphere as always, a very generous selection of prizes and a very fast course. Everyone is very welcome, and a great memento is awarded to all finishers who have completed 4+ races. I look forward to the next series! Date of review: May 3, 2011

In short: The benchmark other races should aspire to In full: As with last year, I can only give the Ashby 20 a glowing report. Organisation is seamless from start to finish, the race itself is ideal preparation for a spring marathon, and at the end, there was once again, a top goody bag from sponsors Aldi and a nice hoodie (better, I'd sasy than last years sweaters). Top marks to the people of Ashby-De-La-Zouch for turining out and cheering us on, and huge thanks to the stewards for their continual encouragement and plentiful supplies of drinks and energy gels. Superb! Date of review: March 14, 2011
