In short: very nice little trail race
In full: this is a decent little race which i will be back for nxt yr. A little clubby but that didnt seem 2 b any sort of problem. Stewards were very friendly all the way round, possibly the best stewards ive come across in running. My only little gripe was no water on the way round, u usually wouldnt need it on a 5 miler but with the weather so hot,i couldve done with just wetting my mouth. All in all a very good race which i would definately recommend for all levels of runners

In short: fast course but lack of atmosphere and organisation
In full: this is my 3rd yr of running this. I bust my knee 12 months ago and ive not run since, literally not even a training run,so after piling on 4 stone and no training whatsoever i never even expected to complete it! However,i got round with my mate and was helped round with the very friendly runners :) Like i said, the course is quick, nice scenery coming down the prom and through sefton park. However this yr i was a little disappointed. Major roadworks on edge lane coming into the city meant a lot of us arriving bang on time or late meaning no time to warm up. Maybe those of us not from liverpool couldve been pre warned. Then when we got to the start,it was chaos with people queueing everywhere for loos, trying to get in the very compact starting pen and also the spectators all getting mixed in. Hopefully with the race getting ever more popular this can be addressed and sorted for next yr. Another gripe i had was the lack of spectators on the course, there seems to be less and less every yr and this yr the weather was very nice. My final moan is the goody bag,i know for some reason we werent supposed to get 1 this yr,but after receiving it,i just didnt see the point in it.

I know it sounds like im doing a lot of moaning but the issues im bringing up are ones that can be tweaked and sorted for nxt yr(obviously the spectator one we cant sort). The medal was fantastic this yr and the spectators at the finish were superb and the stewards over the last couple of miles were very encouraging :)

Hopefully for next yr with all the extra runners we should surely start in pens now with regards to your estimated time just like they do in most other big races around the country and hopefully bring back the decent goodybag

Thankyou to all the friendly runners, volunteers, spectators and Alan and Yvonne, hopefully back next yr

In short: a city half with room for improvement
In full: I've been officially running now for 12 months, with this race being my first race last year. Basically, the race was the same as last year with regards to course, organisation and so on but this time i was injured so instead of doing 1.44 i did 2.18 and if i have any grumbles whatsoever it's only really that the support on route really is quite dull. It is superb at the start and end but it's the inbetween bits were it gets a bit dull(massive thanks though for those who did turn out considering the cold weather). Better medal this year and t-shirt is excellent but bit disappointed with the goody bag. That said, i will be back next year though(injury permitting) and hopefully be back up with the leaders. Big thanks to Alan and the crew for the organisation though.Well done to everybody

In short: excellent support on a quite hilly course
In full: 1) people please be honest with your estimated times, maybe it needs a faster runner knocking you over and getting crushed for you to be honest! idiots
2) quite a few hills on this quite dull course,i'm sure there are more flat roads in Birmingham as well as more scenic ones.

Thats the bad points, now the good ones

1)excellent support all round the course and i mean top drawer, people offering you orange, drinks and jellybeans(the 2 young girls-bless them)
2)excellent amount of water and lucozade stops
3)people have complained but i thought the number of toilets was excellent, not much queing.
4)excellent medal,goody bag,key ring and t shirt
5)kelly holmes
6)coming down the m6 from bolton i found the start easy to find, lots of parking.

Will i be back? Not sure, them hills finished me off and made miles 11-13 unenjoyable but crowd was excellent

In short: fast 10k park run but slow enough at the back for beginners
In full: Judging by the times this was a very fast field up top and plenty slow enough at the back to suit all runners. Medal(as always in Liverpool races) was very good as was the t-shirt.I took 2 mins off my pb to come home in 40.57, would've been a bit closer to 40 had we not done the last 400 metres or so on grass and an uphill finish! overall though the course is flat with a few downhills thrown in as well. Only 2 complaints, both are familiar with all races though, why can't slower runners listen clearly and start at the back! Also, when i'd finished the support on the run in was incredible, shame that when the poor girl come in last in 1hr 37mins there was our group of 7 there to cheer her on, must be pretty demoralising coming home last and everyones sodded off, show a little bit of respect for ALL runners next time.

In short: quick 5k course
In full: organisation was spot on,very welcoming, fast course, quite expensive i thought for a 5k but i suppose roads had to be closed. Only real grumble was no chip timing, you have to trust everyone to record their own time, there was 11 of us and it didn't really affect us but if my team came 2nd overall by a few seconds then you can't really believe that everyone has been honest, would've been nice for a t shirt thrown in as well, overall, nice friendly fast 5k run

In short: PB potential, too much bottle necking,
In full: This is a fast course, only problems are too much bottle necking, more waves are required and a bad hill right on the finish line. Organisation not the best, not enough signs to tell u where ur going but that can only improve. Support and the bands on route were terrific and a superb medal and t-shirt, fast at the front and slow enough at the back for first timers and fun runners.

In short: tough little scenic race
In full: i've done 3 delamere runs now but this was the toughest of the lot, my time was quite good but i thought it was a tough little races with plenty of inclines to keep you going. However, don't let that put you off, the race is only 4.63 miles and just look up sometimes and look at what you're running through, glorious delamere. Well organised again and a nice touch how people(most) wait for the other runners to come home and cheer them on.

In short: stunning medal and course for £7
In full: An excellent little venue in a beautiful location, the quality of the medal was superb and the course was very well marshalled. A great running track start and finish, like last years reviews, this race is deserving of a lot more entrants

In short: very flat
In full: This was my 1st 5k race and it promised to be flat, it didn't disappoint! A very good turn out on a nice evening for a race which was excellently marshalled and organised. Nice medal at the finish for those who had done all 4 races and a nice start and finish on a running track. If i have one very slight grumble and it really is only a slight one, the organisers asked for the slower runners to start further back as 500 runners starting on a running track was bound to be cramped, unfortnately not everyone listened and i found myself huddled in the pack for the first quarter of a mile, but besides that, excellent race, well done to the organisers and well done everyone for competing
