In short: Fantastic race, great organisation, glorious scenery In full: Stunning race, small and friendly club, great test or just a stunning run, good t-shirt, nice medal, spot prizes, tea, coffee, home made munchies, friendly marshalls, adequate water supplies, stations well manned. Couldn't ask for a nicer Sunday morning stroll. Date of review: March 27, 2012

In short: Curate's egg, some good parts, some terrible. Not VFM In full: Late start due to parking issues. Later arrivals had a 1 mile plus walk to the start!Clean start but course very, very tight and too many runners in mid-pack, with too many choke points and too many laps.(Lapping started at lap 2) to open up early. More than enough drinks, if you could get to either of the single tables at the top and bottom of the course and if the overworked helpers could keep up. Please sort that one out. RW pacers on good form and paced well despite the circumstances. Good baggage control. Weather in the day v.windy across 4 lap exposed flat course. Organisers can't do much about that. Very small, poor quality, neither date nor event inscribed, pathetic excuse for a medal. This could be a great event but left as memorable for many wrong reasons. I had a good race but felt the day could have been better. Date of review: February 19, 2012

In short: ood off-road half. Good support but pricey and overcrowded In full: To clarify pricey, cups of water, medal, boiled sweet and a bottle of lucozade at the end with an option to pirchase the t-shirt. Very tight start and course meant it was difficult to get into pace if you were anywhere near the middle to back. Perhaps a waved start (It is chipped) or pens would help. Loos hopelessly inadequate for numbers involved. Took me almost 40 mins thus late for the start! Great marshalls, good crowd support for a trail race and good fun. Cracking scenery so all in all a bit of a curate's egg. I will be back though Date of review: March 28, 2010

In short: Surprisingly under subscribed wonderful series In full: £ chices of race, 3 different race days, guaranteed variety of weather. Nice little day out or challenging race, your choice. !, 2 or 3 laps of undulation on well signposted seasoned trail with glorious countryside around. £ start times mean you come acrossrunners of all categories regardless of race you are in. ell organised, chipped, results by the time you've taken a sip of water and a nice little burger van to carbo/protein load afterwarsd before going of on a forest adventure. Should be better supported, don't understand why not and I'll be back as it's a great winter/spring maintrenance programme. Well doen to the organisers for maintaining it in the calendar and for their unique sense of humour/pre race chats! Date of review: February 21, 2010

In short: It keeps improving but if the field gets any bigger some route adjustment will be required In full: A lot more better runners this year made it very congested. The course is tight in parts and there are quite a few choke points and obstacles. First couple of water tables too short and not enough people. On the positive, great support, well signposted, great marshallls, good start and finished, clear pens, enough fluids on the course, nice medal, okay goody bag. Had a blast with the 1.40 group and the atmosphere fantastic. Runners village best it's been and organisation at the end v good. Date of review: October 18, 2009

In short: Swindonia has a few hills to make it a bit more of a challenge In full: Well organised, great support under the circumstances. Pleanty of Marshalls/water/aid stations. Course a tad tight in places, especially 7-9 miles. Wellorganised at the start and finish, adequate loos, good parking, good on-site activity. Bananas, curly wurlys, water and lucozade at the end, quality medal, naffish t-shirt but can't fault it for vfm and will be back. Date of review: October 12, 2009

In short: Deserves every plaudit and accolade despite this one off bus issue In full: The bus problem actually worked in our favour as an earlier start would have led to different kit selection which would then have to have been carried or discarde. Every cloud.. Tougher than expected. Glorious scenery for most of the course if you took the time to gaze left or right, up or down. Great hydration and water very soon after sports drinks so all were catered for. Fantastic support throughout when in any village or hamlet, great turnout from Macmillan. Wonderful atmosphere in the stadium. Good t-shirt, cracking medal. Didn't feel like the soup and meal which I know others appreciated, good touch tho'. Might summon up the energy to do again Date of review: October 5, 2009
