In short: Well done! In full: It seems at last the organisers have got it bang on.Excellent facilities, good start and finish points and real hassles getting away at the finish either. Excellent crowd support, marshalling was top notch and the feed stations well managed and controlled. A very good day in the Bay! Date of review: October 16, 2011

In short: Great day! In full: This was my 18th Hereford Half and is one of my favourite events. No pretentions,no big names,no massive crowds just a bloody good hard run. There are some major issues now with the traffic and inparticularly with those drivers who think they own the road! The t shirt was not good! Who cares, this race is about running and nothing more.Long may it continue! Date of review: May 16, 2011

In short: Another lovely morning in the Vale! In full: This little gem of a race is wonderful! A small turn out (379 this year) with a good mix of some very good club runners, veterans and Atlantic College students make it such a fun morning.Who needs mass starts and loads of support? The rural beauty of the Vale of Glamorgan carries you round! In short: A jolly good morning In full: Was had by all I think. The early start was a benefit this year.Extra loos, better manned water stations and some good banter from the sparse support. All in all a good mornings work. Date of review: March 6, 2011

In short: Things are better than before! In full: Every race has room for improvement and Cardiff is no exception. The organisation has improved over the years, however this years shambles of a finish really does need looking into and resolving. Those who had finished had great difficulty getting back to the Runners Village to meet family and friends as it meant crossing the road in front of oncoming runners still to finish. Not good for families who had been at the finish line and who then had to negotiate the walk back.Properly briefed marshalls at this point would have been a great help.Indeed recognisable marshalls would have been better! One last gripe! Let's have better control over entry into the starting pens. Some idiots are still starting at points that they haven't got a hopein hell of acheiving, and they know who they are. Those four halfwits in front of me who were saying about not having trained,,had been on the lash the night before (and it smelled like it too!)and said thye didn't care what time they did should be barred forever.I'm sure there were others! Perhaps it time the more experienced runners like me all spoke out about this? I cannot do it on my own! On the plus side, the course was much quicker this year, well managed drinks stations and very good crowd support all the way round.Th Runners Village area is a damn good idea and it worked! Parking and getting away wasn't a problem. At last I feel that Cardiff has a race that it can be proud of and,if they can iron out the couple of problems that have been commented on,it will be a race that Wales can be proud off! In short: What a wonderful day! In full: Yet again the whole day was simply magnificent. Not even the rain dampened the spirit! The organisation is outstanding and, unlike some races, they have not become complacent.Standards have been set that all big city events should follow (Bristol and Bath spring to mind). I was disappointed with my time, but these things happen! I will be back next year, and the next and the next and.....

In short: And the Sun shone again! In full: I love this race,no pretensions,no fuss,no frills.Wonderful weather, good support in the country lanes. Downside? I said last year that it's time for chip timing, given the increased field this year perhaps 2011 will see this. Some drivers if they lived in India would be sacred! The majority of runners followed the rules of the road and ran facing the oncoming traffic but even where they didn't is no excuse for some motorists to be abusive and impatient. The start now needs to be better organised too. I'm chuffed for my son though who again finished 10th for the 3rd year in a row! Thank you Hereford,I will be back!!! Date of review: May 21, 2010
