In short: Fabulous race, very challenging, made even more so this year with the mud. Usually it can be on a very hot day which presents its own challenges. Amazing support, all the way around, a real achievement to finish. Fab cakes, medal and T-shirt.
In full: My 3rd time at this race and I just know I'll be back next year, despite muttering 'never again' as I crossed the finish line.

Regular water stations, with energy drinks, jelly babies, sponges and very friendly faces.

In short: Fabulous effort for the first running of this event. Really pleased I did it and will return next year.
In full: Really well organised leading up to the race and on race day. Nice touches included the lap bands idea which proved very rewarding removing them every lap completed! Having my name announce as I began my final lap was very motivating too. Counting the 17 laps instead of counting the mile markers was actually not such mental torture as I had expected. The undulations were fine and gave a bit of interest - until the last couple of laps and the inclines became like mini hills! Great medal and useful things in the goody bag. Friendly organisers and great support. Being able to place my own drinks and gels on a special table was great - made me feel like a pro! I got a good for age for London so very pleased. Well done, see you next year.

In short: Very scenic route, made better by the lovely sunny day. HQ is a 10 minute walk but I liked this as it made for a warm up/cool down. Good facilities, two mugs and therefore two chocolate bars, thanks! Oh, it's HILLY!!
In full: Thanks Deal Tri, the support and encouragement from all of your marshals was brilliant. Enjoyed being squirted by the kids with water pistols too, very polite - they asked first if I wanted squirting!
