In short: Well organised race, with pb potential In full: There was a but of a queue upon arrival for timing chips, but this actually moved fairly quickly and was no problem, had no other problems with baggage or loos. Little bit of a walk to the school from the drop off point but hardly a cause for complaint. I thought the whole event was well organised.
The course itself was mildly challenging, a few inclines but nothing too tough, and of course a few quicker downhill sections to compensate, especially from 9 to 10 miles.
I took over a minute off my PB so it is possible to achieve some good times. Date of review: December 12, 2011
In short: Fast but interesting course In full: Crowded start heading through a gate, but once out on the road this a fun race. The first 5k is flat followed by a couple of inclines that are challenging but far from terrifying. Followed by a nice steady descent back towards the finish. Lots of marshalls all the way round, probably the most i have seen in a race. Date of review: August 15, 2011
In short: Challenging course, very well organised In full: Good course heading out of watford and into the countryside. Some tough hills but nothing really nasty. Cannot fault the organisation & supportive marshalls Date of review: February 10, 2011
In short: NIce race, could be organised better In full: Nice undulating course along very quiet country lanes, really impressed at how little traffic there was. Whilst the course was undulating there were no really tough hills, so enjoyable.
The organisation at the start however was very poor, runners brought to the start late and as it starts at the crest of a hill, all the slower runners want to be near the front, and the route quickly goes onto a pavement so it is very congested. Also what is the point of chip timing if only takes your finish time and does not register when you cross the start line?! Marshalling was excellent Date of review: January 23, 2011
In short: Enjoyale yet challenging In full: multi-terrain course in a glorious setting. A few hills but nothing that will kill you! Nice cross country style course, so if your looking for something a little diferent this is it. Not many club runners there so good for beginners.
i was not convinced by the distance markers though, my kilometer splits were all over the place, and if you don't concentrate it is possible to go wrong Date of review: October 24, 2010
