In short: Very hilly
In full: An enjoyable hilly race a good one to break the virginity of my new trail running shoes. Getting there was a bit of a nightmare as I wasn't a local and the first post code just took me to Newcastle and my sat nav didn't like the second one but found it with time to spare. Car parking a little confusing but no major hassle. The race itself was extremely hilly but plenty of marshalls and some spectators braving the weather to cheer us on. A nice t-shirt and a Saucony wallet in my goody bag, nice touch. I had a small breakfast and a tea after the race for the bargain price of £3.30 at the visitor centre. I'll probably be back next year but more prepared for the hills.

In short: An enjoyable race
In full: This is my wifes favorite race of the year. The last hill is a killer especially on gravel. Nice to have chip timing and results on line quickly. Will be back next year, for another Christmas pudding.

In short: A very well organised hilly half marathon
In full: This was the first time I had done this race, but probably not my last. Pre race information was excellent, I recieved an e-mail 48 hours prior to the start giving me a list of car parks available, very usefull. There were plenty of friendly marshalls on course and a very uplifting sponge station just after halfway that made me smile. It was good to see the Salvation Army to singing some nice hymns in Clumber Park. The race was hilly and though I came wanting a PB and didn't get it the overall race experience made up for this.

In short: An over priced fun run
In full: I entered this race for me and my wife as I often do as I thought it would be PB potential with nice scenery.

I was right about the scenery but PB potential forget it.

My wife and I travelled from Derby for this we won't do it again, for the British London 10K

We were fairly near the back as my wife had to use the toilets and had to wait 30+ minutes in a Pret, the event ones were a joke.

Baggage drop was well organised in race number order, but it wasn't very well sign posted and collecting the very poor goody bag was a joke.

There was no race etiquete ie walkers on left. got very frustratedwith this. Why ask for a time and then do nothing with it, does anybody think they lost the timing sheet.

The delay at the start was a joke, we normally do races run by running clubs which always start on time-this is a day one basic as far as races are concerned.

My final comment on this race is that associating this race with Haile Gebrselassie is a joke to a great runner

In short: A nice Half for me to start with
In full: A good race the scenery was a bit naff. I arrived late due to roadworks the organisers were very relaxed about this as the roadworks were major ones and they had only been told the night before. The baggage drop lady just said join the next wave, thanks. The tunnel is very dark, I will take a headtorch next year. The only complains I do have is baggage reclaim was not clearly signed, this was also the goody bag pick up which you didn't know unless you went there or were told by another runner. Also the pre race info map was far too small, and the start was not very well signposted.
