In short: Did the half marathon cani-x event. At least the dog had some energy left at the end.
In full: I've done the marathon twice, but this year did the cani-x event with Spice, who trains with me. Excellent organiation, plenty of water stations. We will do it again next year,
A bit too much waiting around at the start (the cani-x bus got to Charlton Clumps at 9:20 for a 10:30 start, and there wasn't much shelter).
It is expensive, but in a good cause.

In short: 10 miles, 8 hills, the last two absolute corkers. Mud too. Makes you remember why you enjoy running.
In full: Lucky with the weather. Torrential rain before the start cleared and we had a pleasant day with spells of sunshine.

The wind on the hill tops was strong though, so you got plenty of fresh air!

Good organisation, plenty of brave marshals willing to face the weather, so yet agin an excellent event by CRC.

In short: Hills, Hills and more hills. And this year a strong wind and driving rain. Pure heaven.
In full: As usual the Dodlers manage to put on the Stickler in adverse waether conditions, so thanks to all the marshals and helpers standing out in the howling wind and driving rain. Spice and I enjoyed ourselves despite (or may be because of) the conditions. Spice (the Spaniel) entered in advance and was pleased to have her name on the t-shirt along with Chantelle and Blue, the other dogs running offically.
And to cap it all we were faster than last year!

In short: Lungbursting first climb, then flat for a bit before more climbs and descents.
In full: Scenic, well organised mostly off road event. Laid back but efficient marshalling of scenic course that had several punishing climbs and manic descents on rocky paths. Splendid views and leavy shaded lanes (with unavoidable puddles) made this a fun race.

In short: Scenic Off Road 10k -
In full: Ran this with my dog Spice, as it is a dog friendly race. There were 4 other dogs running too. The water stops even had dog bowls, though Spice was happy drinking from puddles. Spice was also happy to be first dog.

My Daughter ran this as her debut off-road 10k, and came in near the back, to much applause from the crowd as she and 2 others sprinted for the line.

It is a well organised, friendly race.

In short: One lap, nearly flat course. Excellent organisation and value
In full: Ran this with my daughter on her debut 10k. Well organised and very generous, got a t-shirt AND an easter egg each.
Run through very pleasant countryside on a nearly completely flat course must make it a candidate for anyone trying for a PB.
Daughter was chuffed to record 1:06:54
