In short: Brilliant - all round great race!
In full: I started 55 mins late thanks to getting lost on the bike (my fault - the last bit from the map in the race info was perfect, shame I'd forgotten to check how to get to that bit!). Having finally made it I was delighted to be able to still run it - despite my delayed start it was a lovely race with some decent shade, good water stations and a nice mix of undulation.

Thanks to the chap on the bike who cycled the second lap with me, and the marshalls for staying out on the course for all the back markers to finish.

I'll be back again - though probably by train to avoid the 2 hour cycle warm up!

In short: Good water stations and ok signage for marathon made it a good day out in the country
In full: Ok so the marathon was more like 27 miles than 26 but it's a trail run (though agree bit more trail less road would have been nicer). Lots of water on a hot day and an enjoyable race, beautiful scenery in parts and nice medal/badge for a tenner - not bad! Few issues with the routes from others might need smoothing out for next year but mara was pretty decent - my first ultra!

In short: Decent, well run half, great marshalling too
In full: First time for this one and I'll be back - good organisation, nice local feel and finishing on the track great! Hills add a bit of interest, some dull road bits but nice off road section too. Cheery marshalls and good police traffic crossings made it a good, never going to be a pb, half.

In short: expensive but pb course
In full: 4 laps is exactly as you imagine, but then it's flat. £20 seemed alot for very little. Not that easy to get to by public transport -taxi from train station - adds to cost as well.
Results look 40 seconds out to me, for everyone. Seemed well organised on the day but should have been chip timed for the money, or at least someone could work the stopwatch properly!

In full: Great organisation, good marshalling and a course that doesn't get you bored means this is a super race. Never going to be a pb course but then some races are better because of that - this one is. Friendly, efficiently organised 10k for less than a tenner, lots of other orgs could learn from this! Glad the rain held off - and bbq to finish wasn't a wash out. Will be back next year.

In short: Well organised, quick field and good race
In full: 2 laps of Salford never going to be the prettiest race but efficient organisation, decent facilities and friendly feel made this a good way to spend a Good friday morning. Nice slate coaster makes a change from another t-shirt and k markers seemed pretty on the mark. Thanks to the marshalls for great efforts, though there were few cars and most seemed fairly patient. Visiting Family in Mcr so would do again (though if you're wearing a southern running vest you get called out by the tannoy guy!).

In short: A brilliantly organised and well marshalled race!
In full: Good course and very well organised, plus nice touch with the towel as a gift (better than just another t-shirt). I doubt I'll find cheerier Marshalls(even despite the cold) or a better organised race this year, it sets a standard!
Thanks to all who helped, from the baggage tent to the finish cone.
Quick field as well as some newer runners made it a great race.

In short: Nice circuit between 2 bridges and along the tyne
In full: Well organised - good marshalling, good buffet and mixed crowd made for a good atmosphere. Pretty flat course with a bit of trail so less than half on road. Thanks for a good race

In short: I really enjoyed it but a shame others had problems with organisation!
In full: 5th year running, better support this year - possibly as ok weather - and I really enjoyed it. Though now looking at the comments it's a real shame only the first few thousand get to feel they've had a good race! Did feel a little busier than previous too - and I was pink start right behind elite! I'll do it again but need to please more people Redaing!
Well done for the music, and watching others come in there were some great costumes!

In short: Great hills, good organisation and lovely countryside
In full: I actually did a pb though it was tougher than expected, should have read booklet with the profile! Well marked out with the best 'hazard' warnings I've ever seen!! bollards covered in foam and bright yellow - brilliant!
I thought organisation was great - at the Hall, though a little baffling at the start and agree the times seem a little slower than watches. Some great volunteers - marshalls and baggage especially made it a great race. Water stations could have been better spread out and cups are a nightmare. Would definitely do again.
