In short: Tough and Scenic In full: A beautiful route with a couple of pretty tough hills. Weather was blazing which made it harder. Could be improved with more water stations. T-shirt but no medal. No PB potential, but it doesn't matter - this is a lovely route with a friendly, fun atmosphere. Date of review: June 28, 2010

In short: Fast course by the seaside In full: Very flat - took 9 mins off my PB (only my second ever half). Frequent water stations very welcome. Great encouragement at the end. Sunburned without realising it. No T-shirt but a decent medal. Back home in time for the football. Would def do this again - not least for the PB potential. Date of review: June 14, 2010

In short: Great fun In full: I ran this for the first time. It's my local race so enjoyed running on home turf. Was beaten by a sprint finish from a gentleman completing his 20th consecutive Hornsey 10k - hat's off to you sir! Date of review: May 17, 2010

In short: Ow, ow, ow. In full: First 15 miles were a breeze. 16-20 were OK. 21-26 was absolutely horrific. 26-26.2 was wonderful. Lost the plot in the Mall - apologies to anyone who heard my demented screaming! Tower Bridge sent shivers all over me. Was so happy to see Big Ben. Got round in 03:49. Date of review: April 28, 2010

In short: Great prep for a first time marathoner In full: Well marshalled, clear signage, good traffic control. Sporadic water stations left me dehydrated. Support from lady @ 4 miles was amazing - kids in tow throughout were great too. Race record - Bill Adcocks 1972 - 1hr 39min? Wow.
