In short: pretty, clubby but sweet. NO time record at the end. No results up nearly 24 hours later.
In full: It's a pretty area, charity stalls and hotdogs. Good family event but very ''clubby'' who got rather overexcited in correcting the results at prizegiving. Well marshalled who were friendly and encouraging to boot. It's very hot so a 10am or even half ten start (or earlier if you swapped race order around) would be oh so very welcome. A bit poor not having results up 24 hours after the event (come on - it's 200 entrants!!!) and no time at the end, so if you didn't have a watch you have no idea (I could be wrong, can't say I saw it). Quick course, nice woods with undulations. Not worth a long trip for but as a local I would do it again as it's like a mini fete. Results at prizewinning got mixed up and some were wrong much to their chagrin and my amusement.

In short: Challenging but the scenary sure makes up for any pain.
In full: You won't get a PB but you will enjoy a challenging run which is slightly testing but is not ball breaking in lovely fab conditions. Slightly flawed: My husband's race number for 10m was given to somoene else and he had to fill the forms in again and we were already very late because of car woes. Considering this race had children in it, I'm not too sure it was a good idea for it to be unmarshalled. I would have preferred to have known the route in advance, it was not published. ALL in all, a lovely springtime race with plenty of opss for stop offs en route home via darling pubs.

In short: Far too much traffic dodging, far too much suburbia, not enough time on the common but ok.
In full: This has potential. Wimbledon is not without pretty areas. But I object to paying an extra £6 to get a T-Shirt and paying £14 for what is essentially a speedier training run - boring suburbanan roads hinting at the common, just a blush at a steep hill, closing off the car park was a p.o.a and it could be dangerous. For the majority of the race you are darting on and off pavements with pedestrians and into the roads which are full of traffic and buses and hoping the well intending marshall will usher you across the road safely and quickly... seconds count. BUT, it will hold a place in my heart for persoanl reasons. It was pretty friendly, BBQ after and open clubhouse selling tea and coffee etc from 7.15am. Highlight, bagged me time 2 minutes under my goal and lowlight, getting stuck behind a girl with a bright fuschia thong riding high as her jog pants fell low for what seemed like forever on a very narrow pavement. Not pleasant.

In short: no nonsense, get-on-with-it kinda organisation. Friendly marshals, everyone approachable and had a brilliant time. See you next month
