In short: Around the cone and run for home
In full: Having arrived early I parked in town for a quick getaway, I enjoyed a hot sweet tea in the clubhouse and observed Martin Burke of nice work doing what an organiser often needs to do... the work of 4 people before and after the race! I enjoyed a nice fast course beating my PB by 12 minutes (only my second half!), But I disliked having to play dodge the wing mirror at my sprint for home. Having declined water around the course I was a bit disappointed at no water at the end. My experience of lord mayors funds is that they often supply families who have fallen on hard times hampers at Christmas etc so a very good cause. So well done the “Nice Work” team I have enjoy the half a dozen races I have attend so far.

In short: it felt almost all downhill how did they do it?
In full: Superb race to the normal "Easy Work" high standard of organisation, having googled the given post code the car parking was easy to find!
parking marshall, race marshall, finish line marshall..all superb... apart from the short gentle hill at 7.1k (my first 10k was stelling minnis, it has two mountains!) it seemed all downhill! how do they do that? it looks like i may have shaved at least 2 mins off my PB so it must be fast, with such a big entry there was allways someone to pace and race with, loved it........best get your entry in early for 2012

In short: School run with all the fun!
In full: A well organized run with a start/finish in the beautiful chocolate box lid village, the village school benefits and we get to run through the narrow leafy country lanes of Westwell and enjoy a 2 kilometer down hill on the pilgrims way(phew!) the climb up hill prior to joining this trail is about 4.5k into the run and is steep, but it really is "...all down hill after that!" bear in mind it is partly a rough surface trail and wear appropriate footwear and be prepared to dodge the odd tree root or muddy puddle...

In short: Very good race director
In full: The motivation by the Race Director for the youngsters 1500m was top draw, the encouragement of waiting adult runners,a nice medal and goody bag sealed it for my eight year old...
Superb adult race, the course of 2k sea front 2k gentle! hill climb 1k plateau and last 5k downhill then seafront flat to finish. a PB was going to be on the cards for a newbie like myself.

In short: My First Race....now the bug has bitten me...I now have 61 mins to beat!
In full: This should be called the "friendly face of Kent Run" ... but crikey that hill (at 6.5k) hurt me! but the last two clicks home was pleasant with lots of very friendly people standing outside in the sun clapping us home.... and i discovered i had saved enough for the 400m sprint in.. i wont tell you the cakes and refreshments in the village hall was as good as the hype or all you faster people will snaffle it up before i finish next year!
I have my memento, its my first race number.....priceless... i wish i hadn't waited until almost fifty years old before starting.....Thank You Stelling Minnis!
