In short: A run you wouldn't forget in a while.......... In full: Well I 'll start on a good note, the venue was lovely. But unfortunately organisation was terrible. The race started 50 mins late. Then we ran for about 2 miles, all the first 30 runners had turned back, on the course, because there was no marshal, or no sign to point us in the right direction, and we had come to a T- junction. No one knew where to go. Managed to back track, and find the correct turn. This happened again towards the end of the course. I came out and ended up in the carpark, and had to walk round the fencing, and cut through it, to get to the finish line, while other runners came from a different direction. Again poor marshalling, and no distance markers. I was told by a couple other runners, that the same had happened to them. Goody bag, as promised at the end..... but a banana, a bottle of water, and a couple of advertising leaflets, it consisted of. Not very exciting.... :-( T- shirt that it said you get, never existed. Woah and all that cost me £29!! Was pretty disappointed, as website looked amazing. I feel abit ripped off.
In full: Course was fun, and the hills thrown in challenging. A great atmosphere, regiment fittness guys, were great, and very enthusiastic. Real shame organisation wasnt so good. A long wait queing for numbers and chips, which meant the race was late starting, so alot of waiting around. No goodie bag and red ball, which you were supposed to get at the finish. Wouldnt have minded not recieving it, but shouldnt have advertised it. T- shirt & medal were great how ever. And good to have sizes that fit small females, so thank you. Water station half way would have been good, and especially needed one at the finish line.
In short: A TOUGH AND CHALLENGING RUN, BUT THROUGHLY ENJOYED IT. VERY FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE, CLUB MEMBERS AND ORGANISERS VERY WELCOMING AND CHATTY. GREAT ORGANISATION. CAKES ON THE WAY ROUND, WERE WELL NEEDED, AND EVERYTHING WAS WELL THOUGHT OFF. Date of review: February 14, 2012
