In short: Well organised, beautiful scenery In full: Challenging, mostly off-road 10k, with some challenging hills. Very well organised, marshalled (2 water stops) and signed. Great atmosphere at the start and finish, and beautiful views along the way. Highly recommended - thanks to the organisers for a great event. Date of review: September 26, 2010

In short: Great atmosphere, beautiful scenery In full: A lovely atmosphere at the start and finish in the village school playground. Good organisation too, and a good warm up was put on too. Km markers were pretty accurate according to my Garmin, apart from the 10th - which was about 1.5km - making the distance just over 10.4km. That, combined with the hills, mean a PB was off the cards. Great race however, and congrats to all the organisers. Very good marshalling round the course, and lots of support coming through the village. Date of review: September 19, 2010

In short: Lovely scenery, interesting course, and hot In full: Good race, well organised at the start and well marshalled and supported around the course. Lots of water and pieces of orange at the end, and a nice mug. It was a boiling day, and the only niggle (same as last year by the looks of it) was that there was only one water stop. I took my own water bottle, but would have been gasping otherwise.
All in all a really good race though - thanks to the organisers. Date of review: June 27, 2010

In short: Beautiful location; and hot In full: Well organised, and beautiful scenery - running past rhinos and ostriches on the way out of the park. The discount for race spectators to get into the park was not particularly generous, so it is quite expensive for the family unless you plan to spend the whole day there. It was really hot and a lot of the course is up moderate hills, so I doubt there would be many PBs.
All in all a good race - and next year, if the weather is up to it again, we'll budget to stay longer after the event to see if we can spot the elusive leopards. Date of review: May 23, 2010

In short: Glorious day, and good multi-terrain route In full: A very enjoyable 10k; the weather was glorious and the route was interesting taking in roads, grass, and almost sandy tracks. Marshalling was good, friendly and clapping people on.
Not sure what happened to the announced "warm up" by LA Fitness at the start? The only drinks stop was at 6k and I was certainly looking forward to it by then as it was quite a warm day. The km markers at 8km and 9km were well short of my Garmin reading and the last 1km a lot longer (I'm sure it wasn't all psychological). Anyway I managed a PB and would definitely do it again.
Nice goody bags at the end, + a medal and of course a hot cross bun. Date of review: April 18, 2010

In short: Glorious location and well organised In full: A really enjoyable run; beautiful seaside scenery, well organised, good signage, and the weather was perfect; cool but sunny. Nice quick flat course, other than short uphill stretch at the zig-zags, and a nice T-shirt and medal at the end. Thanks to all the organisers - I'll be back next year. Date of review: March 28, 2010

In short: Beautiful, scenic, fast course In full: A really enjoyable event. Regular, well-manned water stations, scenic, mostly flat route looping out and back along the beautiful Woodford Valley. Friendly bunch of runners and well organised start and finish, with good signage along the route. There was a fair amount of traffic on some of the small country roads which necessitated some weaving from one side of the road to the other at certain points, but most drivers were very polite and considerate (apart from one old couple who were gesticulating wildly from their car in an odd, but futile attempt to herd everyone onto a very narrow pavement!).
Great event, well done and thanks to all the organisers.

In short: Great atmosphere, scenic finish running towards Longleat house, and yes a couple of nice hills to climb In full: I was a little nervous about the hills having read the reviews of last year's race, but they weren't that awful. There is plenty of time to recover in between and the finish is long, straight and flat. The organisation was good and parking plentiful and close to the start line. A really enjoyable way to spend a Sunday morning. Date of review: February 7, 2010
