In short: Well marshalled course - but pre-event info a shambles
In full: These organisers should know a lot better.
Pre-event info almost non-existant !
The number of entrants was known - why no car parking information - at the race HQ was a shambles !
Out on the course - well marshalled with plenty of drinks.Felt sory for the Ultra runners as they were jut given the marathon momento.

In short: Well organised - looked after all the runners - not for the faint hearted.
In full: Great encouragement from all the marshalls and the race HQ/lap area.Tough going in the later laps as the tracks just became a sea of mud ! Very different, in the dark over the marshes with a headtorch - not for the faint hearted !

In short: Good intentions, poor directions especially on the return let this event down
In full: Quite well organised, though no mention that the start was so far from the race HQ.Well stocked and plenty of checkpoints.Poor signage in places, especially on the return had runners going off course. Also no mention of the extremely high car park prices - £8.20 for slower runners !

In short: Organisers trying hard - but still some problems .....
In full: I managed to follow the correct course - very lucky at one junction where the sign was not at all clear that a supporter told us to turn R and not go straight on to the toilets(if you followed sign SO you missed the CP and drinks!)Again a lot of runners were unable to follow the route - perhaps it could be made simpler by going North from the start a couple of miles befoe joining the riverside run - mostly a very nice route if you like canals !
Organisers are all very friendly and helpful - I did not know about the free beer.

In short: Well organised - marshalls deserve medals in the weather.
In full: South Downs are always a great challenge - more so this year due to the low misty rain laden clouds - just where were those masts ! Used the route instructions so unlike others I just did the marathon, though it was a challenge along the top of the downs with in the visibility - on the lower reaches it cleared and we could seee the views again !
