In short: Very well-organised and scenic, really good.
In full: Even the hill at the end wasn't too bad, although I'd say it was more undulating than flat in between the two hills. Great, efficient registration, and I appreciated the sponges.

In short: A great race, really enjoyable.
In full: I loved it. It was a proper multi-terrain, with trails on a disused railway, lots of running through woods, fields, steps, and even stepping stones over a stream. Nice family atmosphere with the 2k, too, and Roe Green and round there is gorgeous. I was too far back to be amongst those sent the wrong way, and assured the T-shirt lady, who'd taken a bit of abuse by some fast people, that I'd give it a glowing review! I was quite pleased with my time, considering I had quite a bit of wine yesterday. I'm pretty sure you were supposed to be guaranteed a T-shirt (in the goody bag) if you pre-entered, and although I got one, there didn't seem to be any checking who'd pre-entered ... maybe they should have been allocated at registration. The main things I'd criticise are the finish line not being clear, and the marshals not being very forthcoming, but I'll definitely be back next year.

In short: Excellent summery countryside race
In full: Brilliant organisation and exciting to get so close to the planes. The hill after the tunnel was very tough, but it was otherwise flat so not too challenging. I'll definitely be back.

In short: Great, friendly and beautiful race
In full: I really liked this race. Probably the best scenery of any race I've done, and surprisingly flat, but still some challenges with mud, rocky trails and a bit of a hill at one point. The organisation was great, although I thought the 200 metre to go point seemed to come a bit early. Home made flapjacks at the end were a lovely touch. I'll definitely be back next year.

In short: Really quite undulating, a few organisational problems, but not bad.
In full: Indeed it wasn't a PB course. The first few kilometres were really hard, as you just seemed to be constantly running up town centre hills, and missing the 5k mark was pretty disconcerting, as I thought I must be doing a personal worst time. And that hill up from the park was awful. But the out of town bit was pretty nice, the rain showers were really welcome, and the organisation was pretty good, apart from people not holding out the water at the water stations, and the tunnel starting so far from the finish line that someone I beat by miles got ahead of me for when they noted your finishing position.

In short: A really good race for new runners, and a nice challenge for the rest of us.
In full: I really enjoyed it. I didn't have too many problems at the start, because experience of these type of events - like Races for Life - in the past has told me that you need to get yourself right to the front if you want a decent start, so I did. I was also at Sunderland early, and there was no queue for the toilet at all when we arrived. I found the inclines a lot more challenging than the sand, which was quite firm. I was nowhere near acheiving a PB, but was 22nd after being injured and not having trained this month. I'd come back.

In short: Excellent fast and friendly race, really well organised.
In full: I'd love this even if it wasn't just up the road from me. Really fast, good facilities, and well organised. I got a PB by a minute and a half, despite the wind. The lack of a goody bag doesn't bother me. Well done everyone from Altrincham.

In short: An excellent, scenic and challenging race with good support
In full: My only criticims would be the directions - both to the wrong motorway junction and (non-existent) to the start. Otherwise excellent, though, a lovely course on a beautiful day, slippery in the mud, but that's what trail racing is all about. The hills weren't as bad as I'd expected after reading last year's reports. I'll definitely be back next year.

In short: A very well organised and friendly race, but I wouldn't call it flat.
In full: This was an incredibly well organised race, and had a big races-style atmosphere with the music, running shops and pre-race massages in the club. I would say it's definitely an undulating course, though, so was a bit disappointed with the pain I suffered trying fruitlessly to go for a PB. I suspect it was a pretty course, but I was hurting too much to look at it too much. I'll do it again, but just won't expect a great time. I loved the coaster.

In short: Excellent Race, well-organised and fast
In full: I can't really fault it. The start was a bit confused, but the numerous water stops were great, and the stadium finish pretty uplifting (although I had to stop about 300 metres from the end to be sick, not so good with such an audience!). Nearly flat, too. It was a little warm for me, and I hadn't done much training, but we still all came away with PBs, and loving the T-shirt with all the runners' names on the back. Possibly the best memento ever! We'll definitely be back.
