In short: Inaugral staging of this race so expected some hiccups
In full: For me and most other runners, I imagine, there was no problem (apart from some short, steep hills!). A good race - flat, straight couple of miles followed by undulating fields and woods with a few energy sapping steep bits (especially if you had set off too fast!). OK to complain if course wasn't made clear (was a marshall missing?) but no complaints about anything else. I'm always grateful for those who spend an inordinate amount of time and efforrt to arrange events like this, and to those who volunteer their help on the day. Great place and nice finish at the cricket ground. Saw Tyrone from Corrie and lots of tea and cake stalls, brass band and dancers on the Green afterwards.

In short: Want to do a marathon? Then do this one!
In full: Fantastic place. Lochs and snow capped mountains.
Great race. Flat(ish) and not crowded. Everyone very friendly, helpful and encouraging...even the slightly crazy guy at mile 5 blasting out rock music.
Tea and sandwiches afterwards. Get your entries in early - it fills up quickly.

In short: Hard work!
In full: First hill is long and steep but other hills are just as tough later on. Good to start and finish on racetrack. Hat & gloves in goody bag. Well organised and marshalls were excellent. The runners were a real friendly bunch too. On the whole a great race (but I wouldn't have said that half way up any of those hills, especially the last ones)

In short: Great race
In full: Breathtaking scenery and one long climb. Having HQ in a pub adds to the occassion as does the hot toddy afterwards.

In short: Hilly!
In full: Start & finish on running track is good. Didn't like having to run in single file on busy roads. I got something from the bushtucker trial in my goody bag!

In short: Good race.
In full: Lots of parking, good changing facilities, friendly bunch, fast route, marshalls urging you on, xmas pud as you cross the line, excellent refreshments for runners and supporters, and the town itself is well worth a look (good pub grub)

In short: Flat, fast course. Very well marshalled.
In full: A few icy patches but otherwise fairly fast. Well organised and very well marshalled. Nice T shirt (nice mug when T shirts run out).

In short: Can be fast if you go hell for leather down the hills
In full: Long uphill stretch 2nd half of race but not steep, so can be a fast race if you don't hold back in first half (all downhill). Very wet. Felt sorry for all the marshalls, helpers & supporters who were all fantastic.
