In short: Something different ! In full: All in all a good series and excellent value for money. In defence of the organisers on one of the comments it was a multi terrain run, so you can expect wet grass, mud etc, luckily no rain! It was hard work, but that is what you expect on this type of run. Goody bag a bit poor but useful for muddy shoes! Could have done with some signs to the changing/shower area as it took a while to find these, marshals were unsure, but helpful. Hope the series is back next year. Date of review: November 14, 2011

In short: Great race, well organised In full: Challenging course, well marshalled and sign posted. Quality T shirt for a change too. Very smoothly run. Could do with on-line entries next year and as has been said more toilets, but those are minor gripes. See you next year Barton. Date of review: November 7, 2011

In short: Great race In full: Done this race many times since 1994, great atmosphere, well marshalled and well organised. Worth the 100 mile round trip with 12 fellow club members. I am a course measurer and my only niggle is the start/finish keeps moving, yet it was last officially measured in 2008, and course has altered 3 times since then? I will be back next year. In short: Tough but rewarding day. In full: My first Humber Half, did the old Hull to Grimsby Marathon over the bridge many times, so good to relive that experience. Quite a buzz running over the bridge, lots of crowd support ever where. Great running through Barton and even support on some of the more out of the way sections. It was a day for pacing it right, suffered a bit coming back over the bridge but dipped inside 1.36 so not a bad day!
The drinks station were well staffed but as has been said a few millimetres of water in a cup is not enough, I couldn't drink enough en route. It would have been easier and more beneficial to just hand the bottles to the runners rather than pour some into a cup. A pat on the back for all the emergency crews, they had their work cut out on the day.
Very well organised, all went smooth, will be back next year! Date of review: June 27, 2011

In short: Expensive race for a cheap T shirt In full: Well organised, no major problems although water etc a bit of a free for all at the end. I finished top 100 so no hassle for me. The water and T shirt areas need moving further away. We do need warning about the long walk from the overspill car park though, for late comers could be a problem. I do think the prize list needs increasing, they stopped at M60+ and F50+, there are a lot of older good runners out there who should be catered for. 36 runners from my club Wolds Vets, any club beat that! 2011 City of Lincoln 10K
 | | Overall score | | 60% | | Would you do it again? | | Maybe | | | | Details: | | Scenery | | 60% | | PB potential | | 80% | | Atmosphere | | 60% | | Organisation | | 80% | | Value | | 60% | | Beginner-friendliness | | 80% |
In short: Good organisation, traffic congestion. In full: The 10K event Officer stated on local TV that they would push for 7000+ next year, it is too much for the area. Many people got dropped off on the approach to the Lincoln bypass due to the massive tail back on the A15. We eventually turned right on to the bypass and managed to park in Long Leys Road at 10.30, a bit of a rush! The organisation went well for me, finished well within the top 10% so baggage area etc was still quiet. Good crowd support throughout. Very poor good bag, lots of bits of paper, a medal and a bottle of water. Not sure if I would enter again, bit pricey and just too much hassle to get there, even from Grimsby. Too much waiting around at the start, pointless warming up and then standing for ages, luckily it was warm! Date of review: April 4, 2011
