In short: the wind made it tough
In full: it was really hard going from 4 to 10 miles into the wind and when you turned to head back to prestonpans you were met with a small hill which just knocked me for 6. this is a course for fast times but only if the conditions are right. when i finished i was a bit down about my time but when i got handed the bottle of beer i thought right who's got a bottle opener lol!!! seriously though great course well organized good food plenty to drink and goody bag was fine be back next year

In short: a long but ejoyable day
In full: i did not know about this run until one of our club members told me about it.this is a scenic but very hilly course but with a 10hour cut of point you have got time to take in the scenery also there is a cycle race going on as well and from the cyclists to marshalls giving you encouragement it really keeps you going

In short: its an achievement
In full: after last years disappointment of dropping out due to the heat it was good to get decent conditions apart from the wind which i only noticed in bits. the support from the spectators, marshals, and a mention to the guy at 20miles who gave us a energy drink and an energy tablet a big thanks it certainly got me going again until 22 miles where i had to walk for a bit until the next drinks station where i took on a full sports drink and was able to run the last 3 miles.one marshal summed it up at 25 miles when she said its an achievement,it certainly gave me the energy to sprint home. i did not get the time i was after(i finished in 3.31)and apart from having to walk at points i had a great day

In short: hilly but enjoyed it
In full: i only decided to run this with a friend from work whose partner dropped out due to family commitments and it was there first ever event and my fist time on this route. there is not much difference between this and the auld toon(dunfermline)which i am running on wednesday and i must admit i am not keen on hilly races but it would be boring if every race was flat.the t-shirt was fine and the medal but there could have been more in the goody bag but its hard to please so many people

In short: really good race
In full: it was interesting to see where they were going to make up the distance having a different finish and could have done without that long drag between 8 and 9 miles having said that this an excllent race and the food at the end rounds it off. well done lasswade

In full: last year it was dull wet and windy this time it was dry sunny and windy. when you get good weather here it really is worth doing this race it is not the flatest of courses but it is a nice way to finish the year well for me it is
