In short: and the band played 'sussex by the sea' !!!!!!
In full: I love this race, my 3rd in a row.

The wave works well, but could be better if organised by times both by wave & within each wave!

That said, i still improved my time from 1.44 to 1.29 down to 1.25 this year (though the GSR is no longer my 10 mile pb)

My phone received the finish time text within minutes of my crossing the line. An excellent addition to the services provided.

And the brass band near the finish line played 'Good Old Sussex by the Sea' as I went past them!!

See you all next year

In short: Need to get the start organised
In full: spent the first half of the race overtaking slower runners.
It wasn't clear that we needed to line up around the corner.

Bigger signs needed for the estimated finishing times, perhaps?

In short: The only downside was the dodgy kilometre markers. Ist K was too short, 2nd way too long, similarly the 8th & 9th k were obviously out.

In short: 2 hours plus to get to the A27 was the only downside
In full: The 3 wave start worked very well. The wind behind for the last 2 miles was the winner, how do they manage this every year?!

I done this last year in 1.48, this year I went round in 1.29.13. 47 minutes at 5 miles, 42 mins for the 2nd half.

My last mile must have been under 8 mins, I can't run that fast!!!!

In short: Too many slow people at the front, should have numbers with pens like FLM
In full: A lack of organisation, So many people put themselves in pens for 2hrs or less that had no chance of doing 3hours or less, subsequently dodging through walkers/slow unners was the order of the day for all 13.1 miles.

No signs for water stations in advance of them, missed one.

Atmosphere? The crowd didn't give much to the atmosphere (apart from the last mile), but the runners were making the most of it and enjoying some banter.

Baggage Buses. No wonder people were having stuff stolen, anyone on each bus had opportunity to steal from other bags.

The organisers need to talk to the London Marathon organisers about how to run a big race.

Queues afterwards? Yes, nearly 2 hours to get on to the metro
