In short: well organised marathon in a nice town
In full: The marathon course follows a 2 loop. After the half marathoners filter off then the field slims down. This can mean spells of running alone but you are always in view of other runners. The course is fairly flat with 2 hills. There is a downhill section that is on a 14% decline, which can be hard work on 2nd lap. There is a longer section along the dis-used railway (greenway) on 2nd lap, where there is little support and the straight featureless chalked based path can get boring.

The marshalling is excellent and the general organisation is great. It would be better still if there was isotonic drink available on the 2nd lap. It would also help if there could be some attempt to organise the mass start so that runners line up based on estimate of how long it will take to do the first half.

In short: Good, fast marathon wam up
In full: Regular emails leading up to event with news etc. Race was well organised (pity about queueing for car park for 40 mins). Early start makes it difficult to get public transport to event. Long toilet queues but then again when are there ever enough toilets at a race? The mug is ok but nothing flash but too me honest I prefer this to a rather cheap tacky medal.... though a t-shirt would be prefereable. Drink stataion well stocked, especially with isotonic pouches and bottles.
